Dear Sister,
A page to share experiences and lessons in truth and freedom.
Do we get Jesus? Do we know what he taught? Do we know what he hated? Do we know who he said he was? Do we know his voice when we hear it? ….. Do we even want to know or are we ok with it just being all about us?
Sister, It is this simple. Jesus gave us the freedom to live. He gave us a brain to think, Gifts to use and a heart to speak to us through. Our brain and our gifts point us in a direction and the Holy Spirit in our heart tells us when to pivot, if necessary. Quite often there are pivots, btw. Set your heart to the glory of the Lord. Fill your mind with the word of God. Go. Do. I guarantee, God will go with you.
Inspired by the book of James : Go read it
Don’t be deceived, sister. Dig into the word and you’ll hear the Lord loud and clear.
This year she struggled and she fought. She laughed and she cried. She wrestled and she prayed. Now here she is at the end of the year. She made it because she did not do it alone.
God is not a mystery. He has revealed himself to us in many ways. #1 through his son Jesus Christ. You can actually KNOW God.
🎄Joy to the world🎄
If you are a Christian, you must coddiwomple. The more you follow Jesus the easier coddiwompling gets. 🥰
Jesus, I hope you took the wheel😅
The more I adult the more I realize life is just us accumulating bills that need to be paid. Good news though, is the bill that literally sends us to hell if not paid, Has already been PAID IN FULL.
Our Lord Jesus Christ💞
💞what comforting words💞
May the old tree bear no fruit in me Lord.
We have all we need. Christ has made us free!
Attention Parents! Your Kids coming off their Passion Summer experience are not Okay! Here’s what I mean…
Dear parents,
Has one or more of your kids had an “experience” with the Holy Spirit this summer? Maybe they went to a student’s VBS or a church camp or what I’ve heard called a “Passion camp, “and they came home talking about their encounter with the Holy spirit. They’re on fire for God and ready to live their life for Him and with Him. I know this makes your heart full of excitement and rightfully so. As Christian parents we pray for an experience just like this for our babies. It is something to thank God for, yet on the other hand, the reality is they are in a very vulnerable place right now. This will require much of you.
Think of it like this. You’ve sent your five-year-old to grandma’s house for the weekend where she was rarely told no and was allowed to have all the sugar and treats she wanted. When the grandparents drop her off at home, they say, “Listen, she’s had a lot of sugar.” Hearing this, you know she will most likely crash at any minute. You’re grateful for the trip she had with grandma, but as a momma you will now reinstitute fruits, veggies, and naps.
In a similar way, your child has described experiencing a spiritual “high” at this camp, and while we are so thankful for those mountain top moments and every single good experience our children have in a Christian setting, we know that when things return to normal, a spiritual crash is inevitable. That’s why we must be diligent in feeding them a healthy diet of scripture and open conversations—feeding them the solid food that will build their faith so it can withstand the valleys of life
Here are a few suggestions I’ve used with my children in my own efforts to equip them for the long haul. I hope they might give you a good starting point to use following an inspirational camp and beyond: Begin conversations often. Listen carefully to what your child is saying and/or asking. Talk in depth about their experience and make questions and conversations about God a norm in your household.
A good framework for these conversations is what I call DIG IN.
*Discern where your child is coming from (this requires a safe space for them to be open and real)
-Is this curiosity about God
-Is this Doubt
-Is this a false idea/belief (have they made a truth claim?)
*Investigate the experience/question
- Be in the word of God so you can discern truth from error in your children’s thinking
- Be in pursuit of finding the answer to their questions (no one knows all the answers … look for them together)
- Be in pursuit of finding out where their questions are coming from (are they believing a lie?, Are they understanding scripture properly? Are they struggling with something?)
*Give them something to chew on (even one bite is enough)
-As a conversation comes to an end, leave them with a question about that subject
- share an experience you’ve had followed by a question for them to consider
*Initiate a follow-up conversation
-Remind them of their question or statement
- Ask them if they’ve given it any more thought. Share thoughts you’ve had or information you’ve gathered.
*Nurture their ability to think things through!!
-Pray for what to say, Pray for the questions to ask, Pray for the conversations to start, Pray for the words to say when they initiate conversations.
The Lord calls us (our children) to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.” Quite often loving the Lord with their heart and soul comes easy. Especially when their emotions have been literally set to steroid level through music, inspirational words, hands raised in worship, and peers accepting the altar call. When the lights fade and their emotions level out, they are left with a war of the mind. The Lord knows this and has given us His word to tether our children to the truth. Congratulations momma! Your baby loves the Lord. I hope this DIG IN method will help you cultivate in your child the kind of following of Jesus that has them CONVINCED Christianity is true in their heart and most importantly their mind.

Sister, You will get on the other side of the hard part.
What a comfort this is💞
Today’s the day!
There have been so many times I wasn’t sure God was gonna let me keep her.
I’m not sure what God saw to make Him say yes to all she’s gone through but I trust Him. My hope is that she’ll look back and see His faithfulness in all of it.
Our hope is that this is the beginning of the end of physical suffering for Avery. Please pray for her continued endurance as she gets this frame off and learns to walk again.

Galatians 1:4 He died for our sins just as God our father planned in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.
There is nowhere the Lord won’t go to get you💞 He leaves the thousand to find the one🙌🏻
Sister, truth is a person.
I can’t tell you how long these notes have been sitting here at my desk. I can tell you I forget about them often. They are worth remembering and sharing though.
Santa Clause, The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy, and the Truth If we are teaching our children about objective truth, evaluating claims and understanding that the biblical worldview is true, is it harmful or antithetical if we're encouraging belief in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy?
I am very excited to begin this series. If you live in Spring Hill or the surrounding area, join us this Sunday as we begin the “Keeping your kids on God’s side” apologetics class. 6:30pm -8:00pm
Happy New Year! May we fix our thoughts even more on the Lord this year. This is what will grow the newness we all crave this time of year.
A few days ago I was reading the book of Mark, and I was so struck by two words that they have continued to echo in my mind even days later. I often encourage women to read their Bibles as often as they can—especially in seasons of change, waiting, and discouragement. I will be the first to admit that I cling much more tightly to the Word on the hard days. God certainly knows this is true about me and I am guessing it's probably true about you too. This particular passage reminded me why.
The last few weeks have been more challenging than I like to admit. Uncertainty has come seemingly from out of nowhere. There are lists of reasons and people I could place blame upon but none of that bears much fruit and it certainly does not glorify God. These unsettled times have me wondering if God is bringing discipline.
I prayed before I read the scriptures that day. I was very honest with God about what I am feeling. Fear, anxiousness, and imposter syndrome to name a few. And then I came across these two words: "even Peter." They were tacked on to the end of a sentence and I could have rushed right over them. But my aching heart had landed me in the Word with the hope of finding healing, peace, and direction. So I lingered over the words more than I would on a typical day. And "even Peter," was the tiniest of phrases that caused my eyes to fill with tears.
You see, in this particular chapter of Mark- Mary Magdalene and the other Mary have gone to the tomb to anoint the lifeless body of Jesus Christ. They prepared spices on the evening of his death but had to wait a full day to bring them to the tomb because of the Sabbath. So, on the third day, they arrived at the tomb. They were shocked to see the tomb open and inside they discovered an angel, sitting inside the tomb. The angel said, "Do not be alarmed! You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, he isn't here! He has risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body. Now go and tell his disciples, even Peter." Mark 16:6-7
Why is this so striking, that the angel would single out Peter? On the night Jesus was arrested he spoke these words to Peter, "And Jesus said to him, ‘Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.'" Peter did, in fact, deny knowing Jesus three times that night. And the moment the rooster crowed, the Bible says "the words of Jesus flashed through his mind." Of course, they did. Peter, the one who said he would follow Jesus even unto death had denied even knowing him. The Bible says that once he realized what he had done he wept bitterly.
Because I know the weight of what it feels like to sin against God, and then recognize that sin, I weep with Peter.
Sometimes, recently even, I have wondered if Jesus is angry with me. Has he given up on me? Does he even hear my voice any more?
And this is why these words strike me so strongly. After the resurrection, the angel takes a moment to be sure to include Peter in the group of those who are to receive the good news!!!
Jesus loved Peter so much, just as he loves you and me! And because the angel, surely at Jesus' command, includes Peter in the celebration of the resurrection I am hope-filled.
Because if Jesus remembers Peter, he remembers me too.
Even Peter. Even Jenn. Even you.
