I've seen high-level commentary like this:

Let's talk about generative writing using an AI tool like 'ChatGPT'. If you want to use it as a tool, it isn't enough to just enter in a prompt and call it good. Nor is it enough to copypasta something in. You'll end up with derivative and inconsistent results.
Start with a voice, direction, and training in mind. Develop a thread of conversation with your AI that will lead it in the direction and style you want. Then prompt.
