I have been practicing yoga for a number of years and it is an integral part of my life. Yoga has supported me through many phases of my life, and I am keen to share the benefits and positivity it can bring. I have always worked with children and have done so in many different ways. ๐ AUTUMN YOGA WORKSHOP ๐
Iโll be running my next childrenโs workshop on the 29th October at Laurence Hall in Cholsey.
Throughout the day we will:
๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธ Practice Autumn based yoga poses
๐ฎโ๐จ Experience breathing techniques to create balance
๐ Make autumnal mandalas
๐ Engage in mindfulness activities
๐ Make some tasty treats
๐ Play autumn inspired yoga games
๐ด Indulge in some relaxation to unwind

My summer yoga workshop was a real hit and as ever, the children made it so enjoyable!
Throughout the day we:
โ๏ธ Celebrated the summer by doing some sun salutations and cooling poses.
๐ฅต Practised straw sipping breath to cool us down
๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธ Made different yoga poses out of pipe cleaners
๐ Played a mindful listening game using bells
๐ Played a yoga dance game with balloons
๐ Did a carousel of yoga based activities which were great fun
๐ Made mandala dream catchers
๐ด and finally, we ended the day with a guided relaxation in savasana.

๐ฅณ YOGA PARTIES WITH YOGAFUL MINDS ๐
I had an amazing day yesterday helping to celebrate Freddieโs 7th birthday with his very own yoga party! We had so much fun and it was a real pleasure to be with him on his special day.
๐ฅฐ We started with a game; we each had to say something we loved about Freddie and then perform our own yoga pose
๐ง We played a memory game so the children had to really focus their minds
๐ We then moved onto the bell game - each bell was assigned a yoga pose and when the bell rang, the children had to perform the correct pose
๐ซ We worked well together to create partner poses - the children were so respectful of each otherโs bodies
๐ซ We did a chocolate meditation using all of our senses
๐ We decorated our own eye masks
๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ We finished with some relaxation (using our eye masks!) and a lovely guided meditation.

EASTER HOLIDAY YOGA WORKSHOP
I am running another yoga workshop on Monday 8th April. The theme is GRATITUDE so we will be looking at ways we can appreciate and be thankful for what we already have.
Throughout the course of the day we will:
๐๐ผ Share what we are thankful for
๐๐ผ Show gratitude towards our amazing bodies as we practice yoga poses
๐๐ผ Experience showing kindness to others and explore how that makes us feel
๐๐ผ Create gratitude collages to show what we are thankful for
๐๐ผ Write in gratitude journals to express our appreciation

Tonight, with my teen group, we focussed on stretching and strengthening the legs, practising strong warrior poses and grounding balances. We finished with legs up the wall pose for relaxation and really noticed the benefits!
3 benefits of legs up the wall pose:
1. Supports your lymphatic and glymphatic systems and gives your immune system a boost.
2. Helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system โ our rest and digest state.
3. Relieves aching muscles and joints and swollen ankles and feet.
๐ฅFIRE ELEMENT๐ฅ
๐ฅ Tonight we focussed on our inner fire by doing core based poses that ignited fire in our bellies!
๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธ We then did some counter poses to strengthen our lower back - locust is our favourite!
๐ We moved onto a mindful activity - each of the bells was assigned a yoga pose. They had to listen very carefully to the sound and perform the correct pose. It was LOTS of fun!
๐ฏ๏ธWe finished with another favourite - candle gazing meditation to focus on our inner light.
These children have made such wonderful progress in their practice and it shows!
๐ช Tonight the children used ribbon wands to move in time with their own breath.
๐ฎโ๐จ This inspired them to create their own breathing techniques
๐ช They then experimented with the breath as they mirrored each otherโs movements.

GUIDED VISUALISATION
Stress is a normal part of life, even for children. During moments of stress, they can learn to achieve a sense of calm and peace through guided imagery.
๐ Guided imagery for kids is a simple stress relief practice that involves using their imagination.
๐ Through visualisation, they can experience many benefits such as reducing pain, increasing their creativity, lowering anxiety levels and aiding sleep.
๐ Kids can use it anytime they are feeling overwhelmed or need a confidence boost.
I use this tool regularly in my yoga sessions during relaxation and the children respond so positively.
โบ๏ธ My yoga workshop was a HUGE success! This group spent the whole day immersed in happiness ๐ฅฐ
๐ฎโ๐จ We started with breath of joy to energise
๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธ We practised yoga poses to release dopamine
๐ We made bath salts to bring happiness when indulging in self-care
๐ We made connection bracelets to bond us together
๐คฃ We did laughter yoga to release serotonin
๐ We made happiness rainbows to celebrate all that brings us joy
๐ด We finished with relaxation, guided visualtion and a lovely facial massage.
I LOVE what I do and I feel so much gratitude to be able to share in so much joy!

๐ซ CHILDRENโS MENTAL HEALTH WEEK ๐ซ
It has been a real pleasure to spend the day teaching yoga in this lovely school helping them to mark such an important week.
๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ CREATIVE YOGA ๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Tonight the children used yoga cards to create their own yoga sequences. They discussed how each of the poses could flow from one to another and then practiced their sequences together. They then performed them for the rest of the group. Needless to say, they loved it!! ๐

I am excited to share with you a new event I am running in collaboration with the very lovely Khem Stringer from Ommingbird Yoga. We will be running a special Mother & Daughter Yoga Day Retreat on Saturday 9th March at Aston Tirrold Village Hall, 10:00am - 4:00pm.
