Maikaya Bags Humanitarian Service Award.
The CEO of Maikaya Development Foundation and Former gubernatorial aspirant, His Excellency Dr Muhammad Musa Maikaya has bagged an award of humanitarian services in recognition of his selfless effort in bringing smiles on the faces of the downtrodden in Nasarawa state and beyond.
The award was conferred on immediately after the Eid-el fitr prayer in his country home, Toto, Toto LGA of Nasarawa state by the Nasarawa West Media Forum led by Mr. David Christopher Dari.
"Maikaya has dedicated his knowledge, time, and resources to impact on the lives of the less privilege and youth in the state ", said Mr. Dari.

Maikaya Development Foundation Bags Award of Excellence from NYCN.
The multiple award winning Foundation, Maikaya Development Foundation added to its galaxy of awards at the End of the Year Gala/Award Night organized by the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria(NYCN), Nasarawa State Chapter. The Foundation was awarded as the best in the entire State. The award was given to the Foundation in recognition of its sterling contribution and remarkable footprints in youth development and nation building.
While presenting the award, Prof Usman Shehu Mandula, the pioneer NYCN Chairman in Nasarawa State and the Dean, Faculty of Education, Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil paid glowing tributes to the MDF. He said and I quote : "When it comes to youth development, youth empowerment, youth capacity building and mentoring, Maikaya is the best in Nasarawa State.....". We appreciate the compliment from this academic guru and we're not taking this for granted. It will surely spur us to do more.

Supporting Education: Maikaya Development Foundation Sponsors Distribution of Exercise Books to Rural Schools in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
In a dedicated effort to enhance education in underserved communities, the Maikaya Development Foundation expressed profound support by sponsoring the commendable initiative of local youths with funds to print exercise books to be be distributed freely to pupils of primary schools in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

World Bank, FG Offer 300 Students Skills Acquisition Training In Nasarawa.
About 300 students of the Federal College of Science and Technical College in Doma, Nasarawa State have been trained in a programme organized by the Federal Ministry of Education in collaboration with the World Bank.
The training was organized under the World Bank’s Innovation Development and Effectiveness in Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project and is aimed at addressing the issue of unemployment affecting many Nigerian youths.
Our reporter learnt that those trained underwent courses in catering and decorations; welding and fabrication; building engineering and electrical engineering since 2020.
The State’s Project Manager of IDEAS, Manzwet Amo, who spoke during the programme’s exhibition at Doma yesterday, assured that the project would enhance the capacity of the Nigerian skills development system to produce relevant skills for the formal and informal sectors.
He said the role of Technical Vocational Education and Training exhibition (TVET) in the society is to stimulate the students with skills to impact critical and creative thinking in the engineering design process.
“The TVET day also helps us to create more sensitisation and awareness to our students and teachers to be encouraged to explore career opportunities in skilled trades and professionalism,” he added.
He disclosed that the Federal Ministry of Education and World Bank will continue to train more students across the state in several skill acquisition programmes in order to boost the economy of the country in the coming years.
Speaking earlier, Principal of the Federal Science and Technical College, Doma, Grace Golen, commended the World Bank for initiating the project and said it has helped many residents of Nasarawa State to become employers of Labour.
Nasarawa Traditional Ruler Preaches Unity, Peace, Forgiveness.
Mr Samson Gamu Yare, the Chun Mada of Mada nation in Nasarawa State, has advocated for unity, peace, love, tolerance and forgiveness to reign supreme in the country for development to thrive.
He also enjoined his subjects, the Mada people, to be law abiding and supportive of all leaders to deliver dividends of democracy.
Yare, a first-class traditional ruler, made the call on Sunday during his Thanks giving service to commemorate his 60th birthday and 10 years anniversary on the throne at Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
He said that if people continue to embrace unity, peace and forgiveness at all times, it would promote development in the country.
“I want to call on all of us to live in unity, peace and embrace love and forgiveness in our interest and for the overall development of the country,” he said.
The Chun Mada said that the service was to appreciate God for protecting his life, His favours and blessings to him.
“I am thanking God for protecting my life as I am 60 years old and 10 years on the throne as Chun Mada.

Nasarawa Assembly Organises Retreat For Members-Elect
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly in collaboration with Multi-ventures Resources Ltd, organized a 3-Day Capacity Building Workshop for returning and new members of the 7th Assembly to be inaugurated next month.
The retreat taking place in Jos, Plateau State has as its theme” Legislative Practice and Procedure “also had as participants’ management staff and committee Secretaries of the House.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, while declaring the workshop open appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for sponsoring the workshop and effective partnership as well as synergy with the legislature.
The Speaker said that the training was to educate, enlighten and equip members-elect on the legislative practice and procedures.
“First and foremost, I want to appreciate Gov. Abdullahi Sule for approving the workshop, as it will go a long way in boosting our legislative practice and procedure.
“I cannot thank His Excellency enough for the effective partnership and support to the State House of Assembly.
“It is my hope that the partnership will continue to exist throughout our tenure for the benefit of our people and for the overall development of the State,” he said.
Abdullahi called on participants to take the workshop with all the seriousness it deserves to enable them acquire knowledge on Legislative Practice and Procedure.
“I want to plead with us to set aside. all our personal engagements and pay attention to the workshop for our effective legislative duties,” he added.
He also urged the members-elect to be good ambassadors of the State in Jos while the workshop last.
“Please let us be good ambassadors of Nasarawa State throughout the workshop.
“As the workshop last, let the name of Nasarawa State be protected here in Jos, Plateau State,” he said.
Nasarawa Assembly Considers Bill Extending Retirement Age To 65yrs
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly is considering a Bill for the extension of retirement for academic and non-academic staff of the state owned tertiary institutions to 65 years.
To this end, the House yesterday at plenary passed for second reading a Bill for a Law for Establishment of Nasarawa State College of Education, Akwanga and Other Matters Connected Thereto.
The bill seeks to extend the 60 years retirement age of both academic and non-academic staff of the college to 65 years.
Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Speaker of the Assembly, announced the passage of the bill to second reading.
The speaker said that the Bill, if passed, would enable all staff of the institution to retire at 65 years.
Abdullahi committed the Bill to the Assembly Committee on Education for further legislative scrutiny and to report back to the lawmakers in a week’s time.
Also contributing, Mr Abel Bala, the Minority Leader; Mr Daniel Ogazi; and the Deputy Majority Leader, Mr Mohammed Okpoku, all supported the Bill to scale second reading considering its substances.
They said that the 65 years retirement age would enable the staff to contribute more to the growth of the institution.
Earlier, Alhaji Tanko Tunga, the Majority Leader of the Assembly, gave a substance of the Bill and moved a motion for the Bill to scale second reading.
