KAIR is a Brighton based, transgender, wonky pop duo. Formed by vocalist and guitarist Kai in 2020, KAIR released 2 singles as a solo artist, before being joined by Ally on drums.

Their debut release as a duo, Gentle Boy, is an exploration of home and being enough. It is a song about grief and loss, bubbling with the frustration of being let down by people and a system that are meant to care.

it’s a song for anyone who has been let down by people who are meant to care. people trying to get support from mental health services or social care, trans people navigating gender affirming care, anyone who has had to fight to be where they are today, anyone who hasn’t had the support they deserve, people who have had to build their own families and homes, people who have lost someone to a system that was meant to keep them safe, people who have had to go it alone, anyone who went through something but couldn’t tell anyone, anyone who feels like they are walking through golden syrup just to make it to the end of the day
