⭕Qualifications of Songwriters
The Competition is open to all amateur composers, songwriters, and/or
lyricists who are:
♨️1. Mayoyao Locals, Mayoyao Expats, Mayoyao Immigrants
♨️2. At least 15 years of age and above

⭕Song Entry Requirements
1. The entry must be an original work of the contestant related to the
Songwriting theme “Tibok-tibok My Heart♥️.”
2. The lyrics must be in Mayoyao dialect, Filipino or English or a combination
of these languages. Words with registered trademarks/brand names, explicit
and offensive lyrics are strictly prohibited.
3. The genre could be any of the following: pop, jazz, ballad, classical, blues,
soul, rock or R & B.
4. The song must not exceed four (4) minutes, inclusive of intro and outro. It
must consist of any musical arrangement or accompaniment.
5. The song may be interpreted by the songwriter or his/her chosen interpreter. The songwriter may use a screen name/ pen name.
6. The entry must be presented online through a lyric video or a music video,
or a recorded live performance of the songwriter/interpreter.
7. The song entry must not have been used in any previous competition.

⭕General Guidelines
1. Only one (1) entry per songwriter shall be submitted ONLINE.
2. The entry in MP4 video format together with the Word File Format of
the lyrics including the name of the songwriter must be emailed to
[email protected]
3. Deadline of submission of entries shall be on the 14th of February 2023.
4. Initial screening of entries in compliance with the requirements shall be
conducted by the mentors and organizers of this event.
5. Entries who pass the initial screening shall be posted on our page on the
15th of February 2023 for online voting. Only “heart” ♥️reacts will be
counted.
6. Online voting shall end on the 17th of February 2023, 12 noon.
7. Results will be announced on the 18th of February 2023 during the launching of Mayoyao Artists Guild.
8. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.

⭕CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
The songwriting skill of the participants as well as the song presentation will
be judged in four specific areas:
Lyrics 30%
(content, imagery, story, creativity, originality)
Melody 30%
(structure, rhythm, dynamics, chord progression, originality)
Song Presentation 30%
(vocal interpretation, musicianship, video presentation)
Online Vote 10%
(audience impact)

There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize Winners and One Winner for People’s
Choice Award for the highest number of “heart” ❤️reacts.

🏅People’s Choice Award: Php 500.00

Tonight, I just learned of the passing of one of Sonata Music World's students during the summer tutorials of 2017 held in Mayoyao. 😥

Words can't describe how sorry I am to hear of this devastating news, and how much I regret not looking for you on facebook recently. Last time I checked for any FB account you might have was 5 years ago and I think you didn't have an FB account pa kasi back then (you were just 10 and most kids your age those days didn't spend much time on FB).... Time passed and I failed to check again. 💔 😭
