Attention, attention, I hereby declare that when you put a piece of bread in a toaster, the surface the bread sits on? I have christened it "The Landing Surface".

I only mention it because I've got these small toaster breakfast things that are entirely too small for a toaster.
Why are they so small? Why are you asking me? I didn't create them.
Anyway, one of the landing surfaces in my toaster is crookedy. I shan't be buying these breakfast things anymore anyway, but in describing the situation to my wife, I had to refer to the landing surface, and viola!
Huzzah!
Well, this will obviously have major consequences for humanity, which is really unfortunate, as we've really fixed absolutely everything else on the planet, so I'm sorry to untether you from the bedrock of comfort and sanity, but breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Maybe there's already an official name for that surface on which the bread lands, but I've never heard anyone mention during any of my infrequent toaster discussions. this has been an announcement.

Attention sci fi, Star Wars and comic fans--- On Saturday, May 11th, I've got a table at the Oak Lawn Public Library, for "OLPL Fanfest '2024", promoting my upcoming Comic Book Challenge Workshop at Acorn to Oak Studios, which takes place on June 1st, 8th and 15th in Oak Lawn.
This incarnation of the Comic Book Challenge will be geared toward teens who want to learn more about visual storytelling, by drawing their way out of certain visual challenges. More details coming soon. In the meantime, you can learn more about Fanfest here:
