According to statista.com 1.820.000.000.000 $ were spend on the military worldwide in 2018.
The Hobbit trilogy had, according to wikipedia, combined costs of 623.000.000 $ which makes it the most expensive back-to-back film production of all times.
The world has about 7.630.000.000 human inhabitants.
So, if the world would stop wasting money on war for just one year and instead make the most expensive movie of all times, with a ridiculous budget of 1.000.000.000 $, which is nearly twice the costs of the Hobbit trilogy, there still would be 1.819.000.000.000 $ left. That would be about 238 $ for each human in the world. If you live in a wealthy country you can buy your kids some cool new toys from that. If you‘re less fortunate, you‘re maybe a kid working in a factory to build these toys. Then that‘s your salary for 600 hours of work.
Numbers are strange, aren‘t they?
