Hello and welcome to our little garden in π Tagbilaran City, Bohol! π
This page is meant to document the gardening adventures of Nanay and Q. We hope to share our love for plants and do our best to offer both common and uncommon *healthy and affordable* plant babies.
Thank you for joining us! We hope you enjoy the sweat, mess, stains, dirty hands and (sometimes) hyperacidity π
that gardening brings---as much as we do! π
May the Lord bless and keep you wherever you may be! ππ±
Our 13-inch-leaf hairy baby Philodendron Squamiferum!
Also known as Red Bristle Philodendron, joyusgardening.com describes it as "somewhat similar in appearance to its cousins Monstera deliciosa as well as Philodendron bipennifolium and pedatum, with a climbing growth habit and lobed leaves...It has a very distinctive feature: its stems are covered in fuzzy red βhairsβ, also known botanically as pubescence."
We will call this hairy girl Squammy! π
And here's our "teenage" 8-inch-leaf Gold Violin! π
We will call her Golda! π
Here's a sneak peak from our little garden. π
This baby is our Philodendron Bipennifolium Aurea or "Gold Violin" in a Hypertufa pot. His largest leaf is 15 inches long!
We will call him Violo (Pascual?) π
According to PlantCircle.co:
"Philodendron Bipennifolium Aurea, also known as Gold Violin is a climbing Philodendron that positively glows! Neon yellow young leaves and exaggerated lobes give this plant the name βGold Violin.β The leaf shape does vary quite a bit, with juvenile leaves looking much different from mature leaves."
Care Tips:
Light: Bright, indirect sunlight
Water: When top 3cm of soil are dry to touch
Humidity: Average
Soil: Well draining potting mix
Plants for adoption coming soon! :)
