This month we're featuring our very own intern with Vision Buddy! William is currently completing the Assistive Technology Instructor program and has been interning with Vision Buddy since June of this year. William's internship consists of a lot of duties, including traveling and presenting at conferences (pictured here!). William has the chance to present Vision Buddy, speak with customers about product reviews, contact agencies to promote Vision Buddy, and more! Through his internship, William has learned once he graduates, he wants to continue working in the Assistive Technology field making presentations about new technology.

This month we shift our focus to a new group within the low vision community. As summer ends, many visually impaired students are returning to class with the same challenges that they have faced throughout their entire educational experience. Vision Buddy has granted its first wish through Make-A-Wish America ! We were able to help Ekthai return to school with confidence by using the Vision Buddy to complete school work and engage with her classmates. We're grateful for the opportunity to fulfill this wish and many more in the future.

We had a great time supporting our local low vision community at the 16th Annual Bay Area VisionWalk. Thank you to for letting us show what Vision Buddy can do to assist the visually impaired!
At six months old Caleb was diagnosed with a deteriorating retina condition and eventually declared legally blind. Despite these obstacles, he persevered and eventually played for the U.S. Blind Hockey Team. However, Caleb feared that he may never be able to live a normal life again until he found Vision Buddy. “The first day that I had it, I noticed differences and knew it was going to make an impact in my life.”

Vision Buddy
We are the worlds first TV watching system for low vision. Low Vision people and legally blind people are deprived of watching TV and they go into depression and isolation. We have device a system that helps them watch TV. It is a plug and play system that works with their existing tv. Along with TV watching it can also be used as a digital magnifier and OCR (optical character recognition) for reading where you take a picture of the text and it reads it to you.
