Releasing Anger in Safety 👇🏼 Sacred rage / anger practices are ramped these days with punching pillows, taking a plastic bat to the bed, and screaming intensely. I believe this can feel healing at times, but it’s not always sustainable, safe, or embodied. Inside somatics you learn how to follow the impulse of your own nervous system & body. This includes slowing down enough to feel / sense / attune. Pushing hands is a powerful and safe practice for embodied anger release. If the impulse is to release sound, follow that. You’re body knows what it needs. It’s a deep honor to facilitate Embody The Elements workshop that came to life in 2020 when I was in the dark myself. I’ve watched this practice give so much permission and awareness to women and their own anger. Being able to feel and integrate it into their wholeness. Questions / comments? Unfortunately children are taken often enough for it to be a reason to teach basic escape tactics. So why not teach them the basics- like YES there is a button in most trunks made after 2000. Children are much smarter than we give them credit for. Teach them, and they may surprise you. In addition, my children sometimes watch us film safety videos and ask to try it out. Unfortunately that also means my son now picks the lock on the bathroom all the time.
