The Sunglass Girl, Mimi Hadi O.D.
Hi, I'm Mimi Hadi, an optometrist whose mission is to help people see better & live better.
I've been so busy, it's just now dawning on me that this is my first 4th of July as an official U.S. citizen:) Last week, I thought I was going in for just an interview, but ended up getting sworn in unexpectedly!
There were 17 people in my group who were sworn in, & it was great getting to hear what countries everyone else was from, & how long each person lived in the U.S. before getting citizenship.
The highlight of the event for me was getting to see the original immigration file they had for me when I came to this country as an infant - they even had the baby picture that was used for my visa:)
My first day at the shore & enjoying my "Leah" sunglasses from . Always make sure your sunglasses have full UV protection!
Had a great time at the Voorhees-Gibbsboro Lions Club charter party :) So inspirational to see a new club open & to see so many people's hard work pay off!

May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand" ~ Irish Blessing

Beautiful Supermoon & Blue Moon tonight:)
"A Blue Moon and a Super Moon occuring on the same night happens roughly every 10 years, and won’t occur again for another 14 years, in the night sky in January and March 2037."
https://www.almanac.com/what-blue-moon
"A Supermoon is when the Moon is at or near its closest point to Earth in its oval-shaped orbit. A super moon can also cause higher tides than usual.
There are two definitions of the term though we commonly use the second term (a second full moon in one month).
1.)Seasonal Blue Moon: The extra full Moon that occurs within an astronomical season. One season—defined by the dates of the solstices and equinoxes—typically has three full moons occurring within it. If a season instead has four full moons, then the third full moon (not the fourth) in the season may be called a Blue Moon.
2.)Calendrical Blue Moon: The second full moon to occur in a calendar month. It takes our Moon about 29.5 days to complete one cycle of phases (from new Moon to new Moon), so if a full Moon occurs on the first of a month, there will be a second full Moon—a Blue Moon—at the end of the month, too (except in February).
Although the latter definition is the one more commonly followed today, the former actually came first.
As mentioned above, a misinterpretation of the seasonal definition in the 1940s gave way to the calendrical definition, which was later popularized in the 80s and has stuck around to today."

It was bittersweet to welcome a new office & staff into my life last month, while at the same time saying good bye to an office I called home for so many years.
But I'm looking forward to starting a new journey, as I continue to grow in my profession.
