Exhibiting at Nottingham Trent University’s Spring Fair on Tuesday, March 5.
Still the busiest stand at the show despite some fierce opposition. Our Ice Cool
Marjorie and myself were delighted to share the stand with Nigel and Janet Newman. A very successful day with 155 students registering with us.
Paul Newman working on our stand. Robert Redford could not make it. Not the star of Butch Cassidy but Paul is the co-founder of What Job Fit Me which helps students to decide which career would be a good fit for them. In conjunction with What Job Fits Me we are currently offering this service free to students. It only takes a few minutes to complete and students can sign up by visiting the site www.whatjobfitsme.com You will find this a valuable tool in deciding what jobs to apply for and preparing for interview

Isn’t modern technology wonderful?.
In sunny Sydney at 7:30 AM yesterday.
Not only a successful business meeting but met up with an ardent cricket fan.
As an experienced speaker and presenter, I am silently critical of poor presentations and verbally complimentary to good ones.
Yesterday, I saw a presentation which I cannot remember being surpassed during my lengthy career in the commercial world.
It was given by Geoff Ramm at to the Economic Growth Conference delivered by Newark and Sherwood District Council. Three things resulted. Firstly, I congratulated Geoff on his performance; Secondly, we posed for a selfie; finally, I have vowed that I will work to get up to his level.
Great to address almost 90 members of Lincoln Business Club on one of my pet topics of having to tackle recruiting in a different way, by broadening the avenues which we should investigate. At ICE, we are trying to play our part and, in addition to traditional sources of young people such as universities and colleges, want to work with military cadets and similar groups.
Would like to thank David Harrison, business and brand photographer, for kindly providing me with the photographs.
First trip to Newark Business Club for some
time and delighted to be welcomed back by
winning the book of the month draw.
Great to meet up again with Bowls England President Deepak Tanna, whilst playing for England against his club Goodwood Bowling Club in Leicester
Weather held out and the hospitality of Goodwood was brilliant.
Last of The Summer Wine dress code at the City Ground. Wanted to make the Leeds fans feel at home.
17 Years today since our shop in Hikkaduwa opened.
Sporting Lesson In Management.
A superb piece of motivation was displayed by England cricket captain, Ben Stokes today as England completed a whitewash test series victory over Pakistan.
The inspirational captain made a point of collecting a cricket stump to give to 18 year old debutant Rehan Ahmed and also encouraged the youngster to hold the trophy for the team photograph, whilst Stokes stood at the back.
His thoughtfulness will no doubt turn a memorable experience into being totally unforgettable and reflects the reason for the turnaround in the fortunes of English cricket.
Lost a friend; business acquaintance and drinking partner all in one go. RIP Ruth and the campsite in the sky
Had a great three days at Nottingham Trent University this week helping to assess business presentations by students.
Considerable effort had gone into the preparation and there were some really good performances.
Congratulations to everyone concerned.
Rapidly expanding global business requires profit sharing partners. No capital investment required but investment of time certainly will be.
Marketing
We operate local, regional, national and international marketing campaigns on behalf of ourselves and our affiliate partners. Social Media expertise rates high on our list of requirements as does CRM. A recently required business will be relaunched at the beginning of 2023 and you will play a major role in this. In addition, we are involved in a company which has developed a world beating renewable energy system and is in the process of being launched globally.
Can you help?

1 Virtual Assistant
Our CEO and our Director of Operations are responsible for the development of the organisation globally. By their own admission, despite their enormous worldwide experience in the commercial world, they refer to themselves as dinosaurs, with insufficient savvy to benefit from the use of modern technology. Consequently, we need someone who can streamline our operation, taking responsibility for ensuring efficient communication between our increasing number of partners and ourselves. Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting would be a plus.

My coal fired engine which is driving my business train, (Me) needs the assistance of a more modern and updated vehicle. (Could this be you?) Ideal partner must be more IT savvy than I am. No cash investment required but certainly investment of time will be.

Today is the anniversary of the day when I spent my first night in Malta, my first posting having joined the Royal Air Force.
Many happy memories during the 3 ½ years spent there, remembering the beautiful climate and the lovely people.

Christmas Eve 2005.
363 days after escaping the tsunami Marjorie and I returned to beautiful Sri Lanka to open a shop, ironically in property that had been demolished a year earlier and rebuilt.
Wonderful memories of some good came out of tragedy.
Thinking of all of our wonderful friends out there.
