Proud coach šŸ„¹
Online client - 8 weeks into her diet and lost over 6kg.

Running a diet break due to few indicators flagging up (fatigue, decreased motivation, weight plateau)

A Tuesday reminder to stick at it.

My first season in 2016 - latest season in 2021.

One thing I wish I knew before I began my journey, is that there is no finish lineā€¦ no ā€˜end goalā€™ youā€™ll never be satisfied where you are at and what you have accomplishedā€¦ theyā€™ll always be something to improve on and someone better than you.

Itā€™s how you react to that which dictates your outcomeā€¦ you can use it as inspiration or allow this to get the better of you.

I also wish I would have been happy at present at either of these showsā€¦ we really are our worst critics!!

Photos from Beth Georgia Coaching's post 26/03/2023

2021 prep starting point to now.

I should have been competing this year and approaching my prep for this season.

For various reasons, I decided not toā€¦ priorities have shifted and after some time reflecting, Iā€™d come to realise Iā€™ve spent the past a 8 years being continuously uncomfortableā€¦ from the extreme discomforts of dieting for stage condition, to then pushing excessive body fat and weight gainā€¦ never really getting the chance to appreciate where I am atā€¦ to progress in bodybuildingā€¦ realistically the sport doesnā€™t allow you to be stagnant, youā€™ve got to continually move towards the next step and embrace the challenges that follow.

Which has taught me a lot and helped me build the resilience I have today.

Right now Iā€™m wanting to take a step back and allow myself to be present in a body I feel feminine and comfortable in!

Itā€™s refreshing approaching the warmer seasons and not panicking about shifting a load of excessive body fat and knowing I wonā€™t feel uncomfortable in my summer clothes ā€¦ itā€™s the first time in 8 years That Iā€™m not working on my body to be judged on, to fit a certain criteria or standard.

Iā€™m finding it difficult removing the bodybuilding goggles myself and not critiquing myself from a competitors perspective.

Iā€™ll be back on stage for sureā€¦ Iā€™ll still be working on building my physique. Just an entirely different approach for the meantime!!

Helping BUSY people BUILD their physiqueā€¦.

6kg increase in 11 weeks, this phase we have aimed to build some lean muscle mass over a specific time frame.

With the aim to increase weight by a certain amount on a weekly basis, which weā€™ve nailed (averaging 0.3-0.5kg pw)

HOW?...

Consistency with nutrition, whilst still enjoying meals out and flexibility

Made sure his programme, nutrition & daily habits aligned with his lifestyle and commitments

Set long term time frames with short term goals to keep ahead and adherent.

Maintaining an element of enjoyment throughout in regards to food and exercise choice - you donā€™t have to live like a monk and repeatedly do things you donā€™t like in order to progress!

4 more weeks left until the diet begins !! - excited for the next phase.

If you want help structuring your daily habits, programming and nutritional guidance and feel like TIME is a barrier for you right now, let me help and drop me a message for more info!

2020 vs 2023

Left - this is usually where my body would bounce back to and maintain, around 75-80kg marker.

Fast forward to now and I comfortably maintain around low 70ā€™s.

Two very different approaches to my off seasonā€¦

2020 I would do what ever it took to increase my body weight and performance, my priorities have now shifted and even though I love my training and still tracking my nutrition, I also want to feel healthy and functional.

Carrying an additional 10-15kg unfortunately does not align with that outcome and thatā€™s fineā€¦ over time be prepared for your fitness goals to change in order to pursue further improvements and self development šŸ™šŸ¼

CLIENT WINS -
A few client wins for the week and feedback from my online clients.

A conversation I was actually having in relation to some of this feedback was about how changing body composition alone is rarely enough to bring you confidence.

In fact I think it comes from a variety of factors contributing towards your well being and healthā€¦ the food you put into your mouth, your environment, fresh air, exercise & movement, to name a few examples.

Gaining confidence goes beyond your body composition!ā€¦

Perfection paralysis

I think weā€™ve all experienced it.

Youā€™re about to make a lifestyle change or start a new hobby/ career, but you talk yourself out of it due to lack of experience and telling yourself you wonā€™t ā€˜be good enoughā€™.

If you embark on something new with the idealisation that everythings going to be smooth sailing and a breeze, the likelihood is, you're setting yourself up for disappointment and increasing chances of calling it quits, early.

This will then create an element of fear when new beginnings and opportunities arise... ā€œWhy would I expose myself to that discomfort and pain again?!ā€

This unrealistic perception of perfection that youā€™ve projected on yourself is holding you back, if itā€™s not perfect.. Itā€™s not worth pursuing... right?... WRONG

Progression requires practice.
Practice increases the possibilities of uncertainty, discomfort and challenge.

In other words, for most circumstances, you can't have the good stuff without the bad!!

And this is where many fall off the wagon when pursuing their fitness goals, they see others progress photos and the ā€˜finalised productā€™ and jump to the assumption that theyā€™re ā€˜just good at itā€™ when in reality, they have had their own barriers and hurdles to overcome.

How can you overcome this?... realistic timeframes, small, sustainable milestones to work towards, awareness and acceptance that starting something new will present adversity and challenge.

For further guidance, drop me a message... this is something I have helped my clients overcome over the years, with reaching their potential whilst educating them along the way

RPE 10 fan šŸ¤ŸšŸ½ - Iā€™m sadistic

RPE - A method to subjectively measure the intensity of an exercise.

RPE working upto the higher ratings is a great way to test strength and a tool to contribute towards progressive overload, whilst aiming to increase repetitions or weight whilst working towards your max intensity. (Reps until failure)

On the other handā€¦ implementing and aiming for a lower RPE can help when approaching burn out in avoidance of performance plateau, injury, chronic stress / painsā€¦ an athlete can only prolong training at high intensities for so long until it becomes detrimental and counterproductive.

Food flexibility, how to implement and factor in meals out, socials.. alCoHOL šŸ¤Æ when dieting?!

It is achievable with a little planning prior! I have learned over the years if youā€™re willing to compromise and adapt, you can factor in little more of what keeps you happy whilst pursuing your weight loss goals!

It does not have to be salad leafs served with a slither of cod šŸŸ

Pre vs post opā€¦ 5 weeks in between

Before my surgery I had just finished my mini cut, training 5x and cardio 3x pw

Fast forward to 5 weeks later, nearly 2 weeks off training, very little appetite, no cardio.

Actually quite surprised after putting these side to side, I actually look as though Iā€™ve added some size considering Iā€™ve not ā€˜pushed bodybuildingā€™, eaten and trained lessā€¦ Iā€™m actually lighter now than I was pre op!

Head f**k lol

Finally able to add some intensity to my training and start challenging myself a little which Iā€™ve missed! I cannot wait to be back at full strength again šŸ„¹

Movement- A key variable I believe gets overlooked when an individual is looking to improve general well being, especially how they look and feel.

My coaching doesnā€™t just factor and oversee the training and nutrition specificsā€¦ I encourage overall lifestyle, habits and routine attributes towards my clients goals.

Any kind of self improvements involve looking at a wider picture and not just narrowing down with a few variables.

This helps massively with providing my clients with a thorough sense of direction, purpose and applications along their journey.

If youā€™re interested in what my online coaching has to offer and how I can guide you towards improving your performance, well-being and habits. Please drop me a message or head to my bio for my application form!

Improving body composition

Many of us raise our hopes up and get caught up in the idea that our bodies make immediate improvements once healthier lifestyle changes have been carried out.

Yes, you can lose weight In a short time frame, but changing your overall shape, structure, proportions, muscle mass and densityā€¦ takes a hell of a long time. (Unless youā€™re a genetic freak)

Thereā€™s 5 years 2028-2023 between both photos.

(And 2 years of training prior to left image!!)

5 years of following and repeating the same daily rituals until Iā€™d created a physique I can finally say I am happy with.

If you are getting frustrated, impatient and unsatisfied with your rate of progress, keep your core values and your WHY in sight as a reminder of why you started in the first place.

Any significant changes in life will present challenges and obstacles. I certainly have my fair share!

If you too are wanting to make positive changes in a sustainable manner, whether thatā€™s performance. Nutrition, aesthetics, routine, drop me a message to find out how my coaching can help!

A few of my coaching perspectives around nutrition and my clients feedback since coaching with myself :)

I truly believe food is one of the main aspects as to why people steer away from being coached.

The negative stigmas and connotations around the word ā€œdietā€ and ā€œbad foodsā€ is forever growing and a huge misconception in the health/ fitness industry.

I hope this draws a more positive light on diets and nutrition as well as an insight into my views and approach with my online coaching!

It can be incredibly exciting thinking of a new goal to work towards.

Thinking is the easy part, you have that thought and then go after it...

However thoughts need to be turned into plans, and plans turned into actions.

If goals were achieved by only thoughts passing the mind, I'm certain we'd all be swimming in money with our dream homes... One can only wish hey!

Creating sustainable goals instead requires breaking things down into manageable chunks, identifying timeframes and overcoming a heap of obstacles along the way, hence why it's counter productive in most cases to fix on the main outcome, as this can become overwhelming and daunting, it's difficult to keep momentum without setting a foundation.

Instead I have listed some alternative habits and approaches towards overcoming barriers and sustainability with goal setting..

If you're wanting further guidance with setting your own goals, drop me a message to find out how I can help through my online coaching!

Physique transformations...

I hate to break it to you, but there's more to a physique transformation than the common phrase 'move more, eat less'..

Making physical changes requires planning, consistency, precision, TIME, knowledge and the list goes on... In order to make sustainable decisions and adaptations towards your goals that align with your routine, lifestyle, time availability etc.

My clients didn't just go on a diet...
They had a timeframe mapped out
Nutritional guidance tailored around their lifestyle and preferences
Accountability and adherence with weekly check ins
Training split specifically programmed towards their aesthetic and performance goals
And further guidance and help towards feeling confident in their bodies, improve their health and performance without the frustrations and time spent having to figure things out themselves going backwards and forwards.

If you're wanting to make positive changes and unsure where to start.. I have a few online coaching spaces left for January.. To find out more, drop me a message with the word "CHANGE" and I'll be in touch to talk through how I can help :)

Mini cut no.2 āœ… šŸ’€ āœ‚ļø

6 weeks & around 6kg / 12lbs ā¬‡ļø

Probably the happiest Iā€™ve been physique wise.. it would be easy for me to just write a positive overview and capitalise on the physical processā€¦ HOWEVER. I like to keep honest with my posts and information I share on here.

Iā€™d have liked to say it was all smooth sailing but that final week kicked my ass.

Iā€™ll never not love the routine, training, nutrient etc..

itā€™s the additional time consumption of requirements for weight loss that I massively struggle with, cramming everything in (more time meal prepping, cooking, steps, cardio) on top of balancing work, lessons, studying, itā€™s meant my recovery and social life has taken a hit, the weekend would come around and Iā€™d feel irritable and wanting to recharge my social batteries!!

Everybodyā€™s circumstances are different and some people get a really nice balance, this time around Iā€™ve not been so lucky!

Iā€™m not writing this to vent but to expose the realities and hurdles whilst undergoing physical transformations.. and to also make a point as to why dieting all year round is not sustainable.

Anyhow show me the mince pies and a social life already šŸ˜¤ super proud of my efforts but time to move forward! - onwards and upwards šŸ¤©šŸ™šŸ¼
