Congratulations to our endorsed Democrats who won competitive races on Election Day: Auditor Karl Keith, Angelina Jackson For Judge and Magistrate Julie Bruns for Judge! And to Willis Blackshear Jr for State Representative who was re-elected without opposition.

We also have candidates in two races that are still too close to call - Carolyn Rice for Montgomery County Commissioner and Addison Caruso for Ohio House in the 36th district. Our candidates are dedicated to making sure every last absentee and provisional ballot is counted before a result is declared in these races.

I said it before the election and I'll say it again - we fielded an incredible slate of well-qualified Democrats candidates this year. Every one of our candidates put in the work and ran great campaigns. To our Democrats who were not successful on Tuesday - we're really proud of you. Thank you for running and for representing the values we all believe in.

The allegations against Clerk of Courts Mike Foley are shocking. The integrity of the clerk’s office is fundamental to our community and our faith in the justice system. If the allegations are true, that Mike Foley has been using office as a piggy bank for the Republican Party at the taxpayer’s expense, then he should resign.

And I believe the public deserves to know if his former employee, Treasurer John McManus, had a role in this corruption!

NEW DETAILS: Clerk of Courts investigation involves campaign-related activity allegations The Ohio Auditor of State is investigating allegations that Montgomery County Clerk of Courts Mike Foley engaged in inappropriate campaign-related activity at the clerk’s office, according to a document obtained by the Dayton Daily News.

Just a few days ago, longtime Montgomery County public servant A.J. Wagner lost his battle with cancer.

I would like to offer my condolences to the Wagner family, to his friends here in the Montgomery County Democratic Party, and to the many members of our community who benefitted from his service.

A.J. dedicated his life to serving Montgomery County as Auditor, Judge, and State School Board member. A.J.'s passion for our community never wavered, and through his service he made our county a better place. He will be truly missed.
