Are you a church member or a church customer? - Focus Press 09/09/2021

Church shopping shows a “Me” mentality, not a God mentality

Are you a church member or a church customer? - Focus Press Customers view the church as something that is there for them to engage with on their own terms and to their own liking. Members appreciate Jesus and His sacrifice too much to do that.

A Thank You Letter:

To my Camp Counselor,

Thank you for taking the time to put up with me. Thank you for being willing to teach us in our Bible classes. Thank you for taking time away from work and family to deal with me and a bunch of other kids. I appreciate the way you treat us all fairly. You show you love us by getting to know us. You show you love God by the way you handle our problems and actions. You don’t get paid, but you never complain. You pick us up when we fall, and dry our tears when we cry for home. Year after year, you watch us grow up, but you always open your heart to every new camper. Thank you for being my camp counselor.

Love,

Your Campers

Our counselors don’t get enough credit. They sacrifice their time, energy, and sometimes money to make camp a success. When you pick your child up at the end of the week, tell a counselor thank you. Tell them you appreciate the things they do because that might be the only appreciation that matters to them.
