Visiting my daughter’s school was great. She has gotten so much in such a short period of time. Truly impressed with her progress. Loving Pine Street School so far.

Had an amazing birthday, overwhelmed by the love this weekend. Starting the day doing what I love was a dream come true. To all dreamers, aim higher. Letting go of dreams can be losing a part of yourself. Let's dream together and reach our goals. Grateful for my fans; your belief in me inspires!

There are many firsts that break your heart in the right way. The child I waited 50 years for, just had her first day of school. Terrified and proud in the moment, it will become a memory cemented with the biggies like first love, first step, her birth, first chord on guitar, first tour and last but not least, the day I met my soulmate and true love.

It would be wrong not to include Estella in this story, who has helped us care for Olivia and became a member of our family, from the first week she was born. I never had a “nanny”, babysitters yes, but nanny no. My reservations were hard to overcome, as one of four children to a single mother. I salute all those who do this alone without someone there 10 hours, 5 days a week and sometimes more. Estella’s patience is endless, her heart too big to measure and her love for our child most definitely rivals ours. Her presence in all our lives has made us better people. My mother-in-law, god rest her soul, told me it would be hard to watch my child fall completely in love with her but it was vital that she did. Her wisdom helped me cope with the initial jealousy and whoever chooses to judge her or those like her, for being in our lives is misinformed. My child will be loved fully every day, even when Daddy who she adores, is away teaching at Harvard and misses her first day of school or when mommy has to travel for a show.

Estella we love and appreciate all you do and know that as much as you love Olivia, what you wouldn’t do to be closer to your own daughter. Your sacrifice for her is noted and admired.

Olivia I am so proud. You exceed all my expectations and then some.

Daddy, thanks for printing out a schedule for your terminally forgetful partner and the pictures she needed for school. Your organization and discipline cannot be rivaled by many if at all.

What a big day and it’s only 8:22AM. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Headed to orientation at Pine Street School. Tomorrow is the first day of kindergarten!!! Can't believe it! After this, it's time to prep for tonight's gig at Carroll Place! Hope to see you all there!
