The Hon. Minister of Sme was very delighted to be part of this initiative & pledged to support this Consortium product. He further on went to emphasise that the app should also be generated in all local languages for the benefit of someone in Kaputa or Chief Shibuchinga's area in Lufwanyama.

This app will make it easier for our members to digitally pay for services such as Nhima, Napsa & Workers Compesation.

*SECURITY IN MARKET*

SAT, 20 AUGUST, 2022.

The current state of Security in markets needs to be urgently tackled. The first thing that we need to work on ourselves as Marketeers is safe guiding our merchandize.

We have the Zambia Army, National Service, Zambia Police and Council police.

These put together can reinforce Security across the Country. Currently most of the infernos usually come from human error, negligence and sabotage.

So if these arms of the law were to be assigned to provide security in all markets especially during night time all the merchandise can be protected.

The council should also ensure that shop owners are regulated and given strict orders to ensure that they switch off power when leaving their premises, make sure that all the braziers are disposed off properly.

I wish to also call upon the local authority to erect fences across markets so that it is easier to protect the markets.

The National Association for Marketeers, Disabled Traders & Vendors of Zambia is deeply shocked by the recent fire inferno that has gutted the Main Masala, Kapalala & Kapiri mposhi Markets.

We wish to appeal to the ministry in charge of local govt & Home Affairs to provide enough security personnel in all markets to ensure that people's merchandise is protected.

We also wish to implore the govt to come to the Aide of the people affected by this terrible situation. Looking at the current economic turmoil we are going through as marketeers, one wonders how our members are going to manage to recover their losses.

SOCIAL CASH TRANSFER

Tuesday, August,2

Kitwe

We wish to commend President Hakainde Hichilema & the New Dawn administration for including the people living with disabilities as beneficiaries of the social cash transfer.

Our appeal is that the current K400 given to them should be increased so that they can be able to sustain their lives.

Currently the cost of living for a family stands at K8000 plus as captured by JCTR which means that if the person living with disabilities has a family will not be able to feed his/her children.

We therefore call upon the Minister in charge of Labour & social security should quickly move a motion to increase the funds been given to people living with disabilities.
