Loving them is learning to let go. Nico was ready to go home and I’m ready to keep saving. Congratulations buddy you kicked FIP’s a**!!
A little more love from Nico!
The first blood work was taken in February under his original name Sage and recent bloodwork for Nico which is his current name.
Bloodwork perfect!!!!! Will post when I get the copies!!!
Just leaving the vet and to put it in simple terms they are super confused why Nico looks so good and is still here with us. They sent out the blood work and I won’t have it until Monday. He weighs 7 pounds!!
Tomorrow is the big day. Nico is getting his new blood work done. To say I’m nervous is an understatement but I watched him grow and become a regular cat I will be heartbroken if his levels aren’t normal. He plays, eats and now weighs over 7 pounds. Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts I will post the results right away.
Graduation day!
Bottom picture was taking today and top is a week into treatment.
A day of playing for Nico who has finished his treatment yesterday! Hoping his blood work is good this week!
Can you believe it I can’t!! This is Nicos last week of treatment. I will post his past blood work and the new bloodwork he will be getting next week. It’s be a long journey for both of us. But watching him running around playing makes me very happy. Stay tuned and please pray for him he’s a warrior!!!
Nico lost a few ounces ugh. He’s at 6.7 pounds. Just finished his breakfast and his appetite is good but he has an infection again. I’m really hoping to see him hit 7 pounds! 2 more weeks and no more pain. Hang in there Nico!! June 13th can’t come soon enough! How does he look? He still looks skinny to me.
6.9!
Weigh in today stay tuned!
I can’t wait for treatment to end!! June 13th is graduation day this poor cat ☹️. The good news is he is now 6.4 pounds!!!
Giving Tuesday organized by Elaine Simson-Brodsky To say it’s been a crazy month would be an understatement!! We took in close to 40 kittens and 18… Elaine Simson-Brodsky needs your support for Giving Tuesday
Nico is back up to 6 pounds after he fought off an infection. As you can see he has a new lesion on his back it’s important to monitor him closely and watch for infection. We are more then half way there buddy! 3 1/2 weeks till your blood tests!! Nicos care has cost $3k so far we’ll worth it if he beats FIP!! Happyhomesinc.org
So the last few days made me very nervous. Nico was vomiting throughout the day, lethargic and not eating. It looks like the antibiotics have kicked in he is now back to eating, purring and back on track!
Sorry Nico hasn’t posted in a few days. He’s fighting off a secondary infection which is common from his daily injections. He stopped eating so back to force feeding.
Evening chirps!
When you go from barely eating to finishing half of 2 bowls of dry food, 4 packets of stew treats and 2 cans of tuna and salmon!
You are a ray of sunshine!!
Decided to sleep
In the room with Nico tonight. He’s become so afraid of me he knows when the needle is coming and he runs when he sees me. I wish I could explain to him this is the only way to save him 😢.
Nico hit 5.5 pounds today!!
Catching some rays!
Look at me I’m fighting back!! Go away FIP!! I’m winning
And the weigh in is it!!! He’s up almost a Pound!
Last night my daughter and I decided to sleep with Nico well that was interesting. He was so excited he meowed and walked across my head all night. So I got no sleep. The good news is he finally fell asleep!!
Injections burn and are painful for about 30 seconds. But it’s worth it if it saves him.
What do you guys think? Small
Improvement or the same. The top picture is Nico today right side eye smaller. Bottom picture is Nico day 3. I think his eye looks slightly better and is clearing up. In dry FIP neurological and one eye smaller are part of the side effects.
