As many say, inflation can be the “silent killer” for investors, deteriorating purchasing power of hard-earned investment portfolios . While inflation is easily noticed when consumers are paying more for fuel and groceries, but the full effect on portfolios may not be as easily seen by investors. Aside from asset allocation and being diversified, what else should you be thinking about to mitigate the risk inflation has on your portfolio? As a general rule, for every 1% increase in inflation you should increase your retirement savings 1% as well, easier said than done when we don’t always get a wage increase to match inflation and the cost of goods are increasing. There is no one size fits all solution to retirement planning, but we can help you prepare and bring clarity to complex situations
