Small Space Recordings is a passion project to put out the music and art of myself and my friends.
A huge thank you to everyone who’s ordered Small Space Recordings gear so far. It really means a lot to me. And an even bigger thank you to all around bad ass Matt Vukits, who always manages to make my silly ideas come to life. Couldn’t be happier with this logo. Small space is something I really want to see come to life. Not for any type of financial gain (although I wouldn’t say no to some) but to help put out great records in whatever way I can. Whether by helping people make connections (players, engineers, producers, etc) lending gear, being a sounding board for ideas, helping promote and book, or just encouraging someone that what they’re doing is awesome and should be heard. It may seem silly but I grew up with a community of people supporting my music and really want to continue in that tradition. I’m really hoping 2024 sees some more releases, some new voices and maybe some small vinyl runs.

Back in 2001 Shane, Nate, Josh, and I started “She Said Records” and this was the only release. Fischer Price Kids Who Play With Matches. SS0001. And so it began. Any Mskegon locals still have one of these?

This is gonna be incredible. Get psyched for new music from Michigan born Joshua St. Moblo.
When I was 19, Some friends and I started an independent record label called She Said Records. We put out exactly one album (Fischer Price, kids playing with matches/SS001). We had a second release planned (Columbus Sharp, American Idle) but at some point the recordings were destroyed and we all lost steam. Fast forward about 15 years and I decided to resurrect the idea while I was releasing my solo record (A Northern Song, Nothing Nice To Say/SS002) but the name had been taken by a moderately successful blues label. So I did some thinking and landed on Small Space Recordings. Within a year I was working with Julia & The Greensides on their debut LP Infinium March which became SS003. It is my hope to use this platform to not only continue to release my own music but maybe to help my friends get some music out there as well.
Be on the lookout for more releases in 2020.
