Roe & Kelp, take 2.
I wasnโ€™t sure if I wanted the kelp vertically or horizontally, so I tried one of each. I love making these little ocean scapes. In my whole life, itโ€™s the water and the weather here in Alaska that are, for me, the biggest most exciting adventure. ๐ŸŒŠ

This one is inspired by something near and dear to my heart and the heart of this place where I am lucky enough to live. Can you tell what it is?

Do you see what I see?
I started this by making a little clay whale, which I poured inked concrete over in a mold. I added beads to the top because I wanted it to look like bubbles, waves. I imbedded a bronze split partway to secure the pendant to a chain. Then, after the concrete cured, I pulled the clay out. I used a silver patina in the relief left by the clay whale, and then I filled her in with a polymer epoxy with some copper flake floated in. Iโ€™m going to play with this process more.
