Warehouse Associate
Spork Food Hub is growing! We are looking for a full-time Ware House Associate.
We deliver throughout Northern California and focus on providing local,
seasonal produce to institutional customers including k-12 schools,
universities, hospitals, prisons, and other institutions. We are based in
Davis, CA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Receive produce and ensure it meets quality standards
• Build orders, label boxes, and wrap pallets with other food hub staff
in our warehouse
• Deliver produce in 20’ and 16’ refrigerated box trucks and smaller
sprinter vans
• Implement Spork Food Hub’s food safety plan and SOP’s
• Use online software to manage customer orders
• Conduct outreach and grow sales to institutions (prisons, hospitals,
universities, etc.)
• Build relationships with new farmers throughout California and support
their onboarding into our system
• Organize pallets in coolers to maximize space and efficiency
• Be able to lift 50 LBS and work on your feet for long periods of time
The ideal candidate will also:
• Have experience using Local Food Marketplace, or willingness to learn
• Speak Spanish fluently, a plus
• Have a basic understanding of farming and knowledge of produce
• Have demonstrated attention to detail
• Have experience working within and developing systems to track
warehouse inventory
• Be experienced driving a forklift,a plus
• Have a knowledge or willingness to learn about maintenance and repairs
on coolers, trucks, and other warehouse equipment
• Be flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment within
a hard-working team
• The candidate must have a clean driving record and ability to pass a
background check
Schedule and Hours:
The scheduled workdays are Tuesday-Saturday at 40 HRS/WK. Tuesday will be an
early start day of 5:30AM to accommodate our customers’ needs. Wednesday-
Saturday will be scheduled 8:00AM-4:30PM. Saturday will have a 7am start time.
Compensation and Holidays
This position is paid hourly at $18-$22 depending on experience and may
include future opportunities for growth.

Thank you for the support over the last two years! We appreciate each and every one of you and have enjoyed running the farmstand to offer produce to our community. Over the past two years we have struggled to make the farmstand profitable as we have been unable to grow our customer base. We have decided to close the farmstand and focus our community outreach on other types of farm and food hub events. We are excited about the new things to come and can’t wait to share them with you! This month 15 sites received watermelon for the Harvest of the Month Program. This. Opens up a valuable market for family farms like Orozco Garcia farm in Lodi. Instead of leaving the land fallow they were able harvest and sell 45 bins of watermelon! We’re proud to be partnering with to increase access to fresh fruits and veggies for incarcerated people as well as opening up a vaulable market for CA family Farms!

New item!! Vanilla Greek yogurt tubs from now available at farmstand! These bulk tubs are super popular with schools we serve and we wanted to make them available to the public for only $8 per 4 pound tub. This week we’ve also got the first corn of the season from , apricots from , and tomatoes from and ! Come by Wednesday from 2-7pm and get all the goodies including red leaf lettuce, carrots, potatoes, sweet onions, strawberries, broccolini, raspberries, cherries, cabbage, mei qing Choi, Yukon potatoes, peppers, and figs!

Mother and son duo, Elda and Abraham Garcia, have worked hard to resiliently overcome adversity from field workers to becoming Hispanic-owned organic certified farm owners.

During the pandemic, Royally Grown tremendously helped and provided farm fresh foods to those who needed it most as part of the emergency food relief program. Turning pain to purpose, they continue to inspire and thrive as a small farm for the community.

Focusing on growing a mix variety of organic vegetables and berries such as strawberries, raspberries, kale, broccoli, fennel, heirloom tomatoes, bell peppers, lettuces, fresh peas, and green beans.
