Kingdoms rise and fall,
leaving lovely detritus.
Leaves skim the wind
o'er towers standing centuries.
The same cycle year to year:
power, plagues, and pageantry.
Brittle leaves scrape cobblestones.
Crimson fades to brown, to dust
around an unplanned palace,
part of hills where it's stood so long.
Working on first novel synopsis I've ever attempted. For another author. Not so easy.
I just completed editing the novel "Clan of the Wolfdogs" by Tom Berquist. What a great adventure!
My editing of "Clan of the Wolfdogs" by Thomas Berquist is nearing completion. He's asked me to help him revise an earlier novel he published about dolphins in Japan, so I'm delighted our collaboration will continue!
"Black lives matter!" screamed the panther to the tiger,
but when the tiger tried to tell the lion, it laughed.
"All lives matter!" roared the lion to the tiger,
clueless as to what the panther needed off its back.
As the savannah day wore on, the smug, paler felines
encountered a nightmare: a warthog gone mad.
It gored the tiger, then trampled the sleeping lion.
Only porcine lives matter when all the rest are dead.

Never hear me prowl
solitary on posh paws
skimming snow and leaves.
