Storey's Fort Storey’s Fort is a collective of giving circles inspired by humanitarian George Storey (1725 - 1805)
A truly amazing story. What if there was a giving circle dedicated to just doing random acts of kindness like these?
Revealing maps illustrating Appalachian counties that are economically at-risk or distressed. What can we do to help?
Many are familiar with The Family Storey genealogy about our Scotch-Irish ancestor who settled at Fair Forest, South Carolina in the 1750’s, blessed with wife, Nancy, son, Anthony, and more than 300 acres of land granted to them by George III of Great Britain.
Years later during the war for American independence, the original Storey home burned to the ground, however, a second home was built soon after and is still standing today, and owned by Storey family relatives.
During the war, Storey built a fort “to protect the old people and women and children left behind when the younger men went to war. This was known as Storey's Fort, and because of this George Storey is recognized as a Revolutionary Soldier by the DAR, as well as four of his five sons.”
Storey’s Fort giving circles are dedicated to the memory and legacy of George Storey and his humanitarian efforts in support of others less fortunate. These giving circles are hosted by FOREXthropy; a philanthropic social enterprise which is owned by a seventh-great grandson of George Storey.
