I read somewhere that in certain rituals the wearer uses a mask in order to allow other aspects of the personality to shine through.

Morning light through my pojagi inspired curtain. If you've got a beautiful room it inspires these sorts of things! Also been a super useful project while I got stuck for a bit on other work and now it's flowing again.

Snakess. Making their way into something or other.

Work in progress. Figuring out configurations and how everybody's gonna fit together. New friends being added to the mix as the story hopefully comes together.

And so it begins. My new studio space for the foreseeable future. Love my hidey place under the stairs. I'm like Harry Potter but less annoying.

Now im on the precipice of something new, hoping to re enter that land that shows me what it is and what it's saying..

Main part of an interesting triptych type of experiment i did a while back . This part definitely my favourite of the three.

Saint Jude. I named this piece after a band I love (.jude_) whose lyrics are behind a lot of this imagery.
I also dug into who the 'actual' Saint Jude was. Turns out he's the Saint of lost causes and the Saint of Hope.
I read somewhere that 'Hope is the pillar that holds up the world'. Seems a teeter totter pillar but it makes sense to me.
I want to look at this image as a prayer for new vision, and courage and looking in and shining out.
Saint Jude was recently displayed at the and is now ensconced somewhere in the UK. Happy to spread the message!

Part 3 and 4 of the 'New Fiction' series recently on display and sold .

Part 3:According to Vedic scripture the Swan symbolises discernment, the ability to tell the Real from the non real, Truth from non truth. Here she is guiding a brave traveller into the unknown.

Part 4: Stairs and eyes and movement and arches and birds oh my!

Here's part 2 of the 'New Fiction' series that was up on display at .
For me, it pays homage in a small way to the Animal Spirit.
It's in the eyes of every single animal I see.
It's so grounded and real and makes so much more sense to me than anything else.
I love it unconditionally.

Here she is, the lady that helped me through this whole recent journey of creation for . She started off part of a piece but didn't fit in and now she stands alone and lives with me.
There is a lot to be said for this white snake symbology but right now Ill feel it more than speak it.

Come and visit at stall ALT 8 . I'm pretty proud of what's in store.

Here's a sneak peak of one of the works going up . The last 2 images are of the back of the work which I find pretty interesting.

For full frontal viewage 😁, come see us at booth ALT 8. I'll be exhibiting with crazy talent the likes of .elkington.art and .

We were all contacted by of to riff off of what we feel around the work of the late artist in this exhibition called 'Conversations with Claude'. Paging through her book of paintings and reading up about her, I was struck by her movement toward the surreal, the dreamlike and the symbolic. Her clean cut colour lines and defined forms somehow provide this perfect background for the irrational and unexpected. This speaks directly to my heart. For me, so much more can be said in the simple and in the symbols.

Come and see. I think the stall is going to be banging! A riot of colour and beauty.🏡️🎠🏡️

Some work in progress from my time .frontal May 2023. I've left this project to simmer away in the back of my mind. Really loving the play of light coming through in each piece. Magic for me.

BIG fat news is that I'll be exhibiting ! 16-18th Feb!
I'll be positing some sneak peaky shots of what I've been working on as well as more details on who I'm exhibiting with soon (mad talent) .
This is all very totally incredibly amazing! I'm super honoured and excited to be part of this.

Totemic little wall hanging I made to represent my 3 week self artist retreat in the Klein Karoo. It turned out to be a pretty life changing shamanic journey that one, and alongside me was the one, the only Sophie spirit dog featured at the bottom there. Love you always Soph X

Something I made a while back. This was the result of an intense period of self doubt which I was trying to express visually. These guys arrived and I'm not sure if they expressed that state but they sure helped me through it.

This fine lady holds court in my new(ish) house. She's beautiful and I love her.
Backing fabric is a thick ramie cotton sewn together with a pojagi technique. Ive embroidered flowers over the mesh fabric that covers her body and then cut away the backing fabric so the light shines through. The light always has to shine through yo! πŸ™
