Poor result and performance this morning as we lose our unbeaten record in horrible conditions.
2-0 down and down to 10 men at half time due to keeper Ben Priestley being shown a red card after 10 minutes of the game.

We put in a spirited second half performance but just couldn’t get the equaliser we thoroughly deserved.

Conditions ruined a game between 2 good sides. We pick ourselves up and put it right when football resumes. Stay safe everyone.

This Sunday we travel to Chaucer School in Sheffield to play Renegade Football Club in which should be our toughest test to date this season.

Should be a cracking game between 2 good unbeaten sides.

Due to last week’s disappointment of the opponent cancelling the game an hour before kick off we was unable to pay our respects to Bev Moore (Midfielder Joe McGuinness Mum).

Therefore we will be doing it this weekend as all the players and management will be wearing black armbands in her memory.

🔵⚪️ CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT ⚪️🔵

This mornings game against Prince Of Wales FC was postponed 75 minutes before kick off due to the opposition being unable to field a side out.

This was not Covid related and therefore after speaking to the League hierarchy, we can now confirm we have been given a 3-0 victory.

Coincidentally although it is another 3 points on the board, this is our worst result of the season and feel like an average result based on our positive goal difference to date would have been much more efficient.

We now sit Top of the League and move onto our away fixture at Renegade Football next week. Due to not fulfilling this mornings fixture when we was wearing black armbands in memory of Bev Moore (midfielder Joe McGuinness mum), we will now do so in our next game.

💙 Also this Sunday, all management and players of the club will be wearing black armbands in memory of Bev Moore. She is the mother of our ever present midfielder Joe McGuinness. Today marks a year since her passing and it’s the least we can do to support Joe and his family. 💙

This Sunday we host Jubilee Rangers at the Phoenix in our 4th league game of the season.

All the players and management at the club will be wearing Black Armbands during the game in memory of Sir Paul’s Grandson and Gaffer Lewis Carder’s Nephew Tom Bothamley who should have been celebrating his 18th birthday this week.

Tom was well known to most of the lads as he would regularly join in with pre season training back in the day. An exceptionally talented footballer, Tom is sorely missed by all who knew him and most importantly never forgotten since his death in 2016.

Sir Paul’s Lovely Wife Julie Carder is participating in Go Sober For October in memory of there Grandson Thomas Bothamley who tragically passed away in 2016.

Tom would be celebrating his 18th birthday on October 7th so Julie has challenged herself in the hope to raise some funds towards the Thomas Bothamley Defibrillator Fund.

All monies raised goes directly to Toms Fund where we hope we can continue to help save lives!

This Sunday we travel to Doncaster to play Balby Athletic in a memorial game in memory of Sir Paul’s Grandson Thomas Bothamley.

Since Toms death on 8th July 2016, we have always played Balby Athletic on the closest Sunday to the date. Due to COVID-19 we was unable to do that this year therefore we have rearranged the game for this weekend.

Thomas was also a Brinsworth Whitehill player in the juniors before signing for Wickersley Youth.

Paul has now been reunited with Thomas and we hope we put on a good performance for them both on Sunday.

🔸 After numerous discussions with Rob from Rotherham Advertiser, Sitwell Park Golf Club and Alyce from Rotherham Hospice, we now have confirmation to host the event on the 24th July!

🔸 We have purposefully kept updates on the golf day to a minimum since March. We wanted to see what measures were in place post lock-down, making a judgement closer to the time of the event. This has proven to be the right thing to do. Having spoken to Alyce at the hospice they've suffered massively with fundraising events having to be cancelled. Ultimately we aim to raise as much money in aid of a fantastic cause! The support we've received off Sponsors and Teams has been absolutely amazing.

🔸 Government measures are still in place and I can categorically say these will be adhered to at all times! Sitwell Park Golf Club are planning for a return to the Clubhouse and we respect their decisions. From a catering point of view, we are unsure on what this may be at this time. The original 'pie and peas' may change depending on decisions made by the club. We will make announcements as and when we know them.
