As some of you know, I have been in a battle to have my credit card processor to reinstate my account. I was given the boot for being too racy. So I split myself in two - a familiar old trick for those of us who don’t quite fit into a world of suburban beige. Even then, they rejected me.

“Tell me what content to remove and I’ll do it.” Weeks of silence passed, but I remained politely persistent. Eventually they had to admit it was an atmosphere, not specific content that made them uneasy. To their credit, they reinstated me.

Sh***ri is a Japanese art form with a complex history stretching back hundreds of years. In a beautiful display of trust and vulnerability a rope artist works with a model, often suspending them in mid-air, blending rope techniques and the human body’s natural landscape to create stunning geometric patterns that challenge us to see human form in bold new ways. Both rope artists and their models spend years learning and growing in the realm of sh***ri and their trust in working together unfolds gracefully as they transition through a range of stunning poses.

This was it - the universe repeating its shapes - a body looking like a mountain. It was also an example of two realities coexisting.
