The Haunting of Sarah Nottley is fully underway and it is a damned behemoth. One song and it is no EP, it's a full length juggernaut of pure sorrow and doom!

About 12 years ago, back in the old Storm on the Abyss days, A and I created a 31 minute long behemoth titled "The Haunting of Sarah Nottley".

The song was about a soldier in 1866 returning home from many years of fighting in the American Civil War. Captain Jonathon Nottley, hoping to leave the horrors and nightmares behind and start a new chapter with his wife, Sarah, at their secluded home near Narragansett Bay in RI, discovered rather quickly, that not all the bad memories he left behind stayed buried where they should have.

Not a soul on Earth, other that myself and A, has ever heard this song in it's entirety. I was thinking of stirring up the caldron again and boiling up a sort of re-make / re-interpretation of this old classic from the past - Solemn Eternal style!

We'll see how it goes....

Oh, it's going to be one HELL of an adventure!!!

Vengeance in the Eyes of Creatures that Stare Back. This is the title of our newest song on our upcoming album and, I must say, one of our finest songs yet. Parts of this song reminds me a little of Comatose Vigil's song, Mirrors of Despair, where you have this oppressive crushing atmosphere that chokes out all hope, but then there is this tentative ray of light that, for a moment, calls you out of the darkened gloom.

Algol is DONE! Now we are building a new slice of darkened doom titled, As Nebulous Vapors Slither Across Frost Covered Tombs. Ohh, this one is quite a gem!

We are in process of writing a new song called "Algol". The song is as blistering and ghostly as the demon star itself!

A few months back I was taking a walk near where I live one evening and as I looked up, a dark storm approached off to the west. Long black "Wall Cloud". Vengeful, nasty looking storm that promised much turmoil (and it did afterwards). As a landscape photographer, I snapped a photo of the coming storm. I think it turned out too be a pretty decent album cover? Ω

Winter's Fury will be up on our Bandcamp page on December 21st - Winter Solstice. I have been listening to black / doom metal for nearly 30 years now and I have to say, the song Lashed by the Unforgiving Winds of Fate, makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!
