If you like baseball and are in Japan, going to a game is an experience totally different than an MLB game. ⚾ Each team had a marching band and the cheering sections had a cheer for each player. Fans were mostly seated by the team they were cheering for, though we were in the Giants section and had Swallows fans beside us. The Swallows fans had umbrellas and have an "umbrella dance" cheer, which was really cool. ☔ Stadium food included Yakitori, edamame, and ice cream shaped like the Tokyo Dome! When we ordered, we were given a number, but didn't consider until hearing the numbers called that it would be in Japanese! When our number was called and no one came right away, the worker switched to English! We definitely want to learn more Japanese before our next trip there! I kept getting rejected from jobs, except for call center ones. I could either go work in a call center for $40,000 a year (which was actually higher than my teacher salary!) or go from being a transitioned teacher back to teaching. I had one more option: become an entrepreneur and launch my own online business. Happy Valentine's Day! 💖 Here are five tips for those planning a destination wedding: 1) Visit the resort before you book We had been to this resort three times before we got married there (including when we got engaged!) so we knew what to expect. We visited several venues in the US and decided against them due to location, looking different than online, or feeling like it was in an unsafe area. With this resort, we knew it was a good location that our guests would enjoy. 2) Incorporate the local culture We had a mariachi band and marimba performance that everyone loved. It was a great way to give a flair of the local musical culture and provide entertainment for our guests! We also provided some typical Mexican snacks in our welcome bags. The night before the wedding we had coconuts delivered to give it a tropical touch. 3) Plan Optional Excursions and Activities (but not too many) We organized an outing to La Buena Vida and the town of Akumal as an optional activity for our guests. We also gave our suggestions of excursion activities. We didn't want our guests to be in wedding activities for their entire trip and wanted them to have the opportunity to enjoy most of the time as a vacation. 4) Send Out Invitations and Information Early Some of our guests needed to get passports and there were slow processing times at that point. By giving our guests about nine months to plan, everyone was able to get their passports in time! We also had some guests who had to coordinate many things in their lives to be able to go and we are so grateful for that. It would have been a lot harder for people to come if they onl months to plan. 5) Have Fun! It was a unique experience to have so many people from different parts of our lives together in one of our favorite places! Enjoy the entire experience!
