Since baseball season is supposed to be around the corner, I thought it would be fun/useful to do a worst to best ranking of stadiums I’ve been to. This ranking is solely based on accessibility. Keep in mind it’s been a couple years since I been to some of these so it’s possible that they upgraded. Please feel free to comment if you want to share baseball stadiums you been to and how accessible they where! Lift up your roadblock today!
***NEW*** if you are interested DM me and we can work out a price (for right now I only have Medium but will be ordering more if you want a different size, just let me know)
Great day in Bay Shore! Multiple accessible bars and coffee shops . Some stores have step to get into. Napper Tandy’s does not have a accessible bathroom but still a great bar. Super accessible to get by the water. Hope to go back soon!
Really nice park to get fresh air! Has place to sit and eat with multiple sports fields. Around the fields is a path that is a little under a mile long. Plus sometimes there are carnivals and concerts hosted here!
At cedar beach there is a great trail fully paved and accessible! You might hit some sandy parts but I had no problem getting over them. There is also a beach bar that is accessible to get to with live music every Friday. Hope to see you around there!
Great day in Patchogue, exploring around finding new places to hang out! The coffee shop is a cool chill place to hang out and do your work. Super disabled friendly! The brewery is so nice with awesome drinks and even cooler people. As well as James Joyce. I honestly believe patchogue is one of the most disabled friendly towns on Long Island!
On this page, I try and only point out the good places to visit but after thinking about it, it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t point out the bad too.. In Port Jeff , the restaurant called Nantuckets is not disabled friendly at all, stairs everywhere. When my mom went in to asked if there’s a ramp, and supposedly, very rudely, the host replied “we’re not settling it up right now”. I strongly recommend going somewhere else, not friendly to the disabled community.
A couple of great places to go to if you’re ever visiting Port Jefferson, First is Danfords, great views as well as great food. You are able to enjoy your food on the boardwalk, or if you’re like me and just want to go there and order a drink, they offer tables and chairs by the front, just be aware that they don’t offer service if you do choose to sit there. They do have a ramp that gets you inside, however the front door is kinda tight for a chair. The second spot I would recommend is the boardwalk that goes from Danfords and ends close to rocket ship park, really nice ride along the water, they do have another boardwalk where people access there boats, it’s open to the public, however, there are no side railings, it’s all open , if you have uncontrollable movements like myself, it can be scary.
I want to thank for allowing me to share her trip, sh added, “this resort has walk in showers and accessible shuttles”. Looks really nice, hopefully we all can visit one day!!
Meet Matt, he was kind enough to share his journey to New Hampshire! Looked like a great time, hopefully you can visit there one day too! If you have a story like Matt’s, don’t be shy send them our way!
