R Forte Singer
Solo artist, performing in carehomes and retirement homes
Audience participation is great fun. Sometimes it's just a call out of "What a load of ballads!" π Thanks to our lovely George π€© a real source of inspiration π π
π What a lovely gift π€©
This will be full in no time

Since I started doing singing entertainment in care homes, I've met quite a few people that I've known over the years, from other areas of life.
I was invited to a new place today to join in with their Christmas party π
and as always, the staff really made it very special for everyone ππΊπ
The icing on the cake today though, was seeing an old family friend who came over from Italy many years ago. What an absolute honour it was to sing an old Italian favourite to him. Just pricelessβ
πΆ ππ The Christmas fun has started. Well done to the staff and volunteers at The Sands carehome for all the effort that was put in to making it a great afternoon for everyone πΊπ

πΆπ€ A brief clip from one of todays tributes. Requested by a lovely gentleman, who in his own words is a "massive Country music fan".π€
Patsy Cline is also one of my own favourites. It's always nice to include some of her songs during the sessions, but hearing the audience joining in is what really makes it. π¦
Oh my, we can all get words mixed up, but I believe I congratulated someone for being an officer in the ancient Roman army π
πΆ πΈ π₯Today we were joined by professional local photographer Johnny Bean, to get some photographic record and images for future projects π€πΆ
It was a pleasure having him along, as he worked with full respect of residents privacy and kind consideration throughout the session π¦
His professionalism was immediately apparent and despite my initial reservations and not being very photogenic, I'm intrigued to see the results. It's also giving me a nudge into including some ideas that I've been pondering on π€π πΆ
πΆπ€ A small clip from today's performance
Thankyou to Jane Thwaites π
It's such an honour to share moments like these with residents and their family and friends π¦
πΆ Favourite songs and music are a snapshot of our special times and evoke memories in a way that only music can do πΆ
Thankyou again Jane, best wishes to you and your precious parents π

π¦ At last. After such a long time, my ukulele has once again emerged from its case. Today I accompanied another care home entertainer at one of the homes we both visit, singing harmonies to a variety of songs πΆπ€ Some familiar ones and some not so well known ones, but very much enjoyed by all πππ¦
π€©Not singing related, but I just love thisπ π
A wonderful work of art, created by the residents of a home I visited this week. Shortlisted in the Story art competition, this stunning piece of work includes various textiles, such as buttons and eggshells. It's a lovely illustration of how the staff went above and beyond to support all the residents who wanted to take part ππ π¦π
We enjoyed a little chat about how it was made and the well known location it depicts.
Anyone recognise the buildings?
Sharing a magical moment ππ€
Today I had the honor of singing alongside a true legend, a 99 year old gentleman who graced theatre stages in his prime. His voice still shines brightly as we harmonized, reminding me of the timeless power of musicπ΅π Our duet was quite magical, bridging past and present, creating memories that will forever resonate. ππΆ It's moments like these that make our journey so special, reminding us that music truly is a universal language that unites souls. πΌβ€
My home made drum, an upcycled water container, had it's debut performance today during a fantastic collaboration with a very talented, fellow musician. It was a real pleasure to join everyone today, a great afternoon was had by all

A lovely day, for a special lady.πβπ·
We had a great afternoon celebrating Margaret's birthday
and it was a pleasure to meet her family and friends.

Even the most conscientiously planned set can become useless when things are unpredictable and every venue is unique. So it's good to have a plan B... be creative and adaptable. It's definitely a bonus and who cares if we sing a few Christmas songs in the middle of June?π πΆπ΅
I'm pleased to say that I've been asked to extend one of my carehome visits, to include some of the residents, who aren't able to join us in the lounge area.
It will mean tailoring the sets specifically for any individuals, to be performed on a one to one basis.
This is something very close to my heart as I have memories of the comfort it brought to my dad. My aim always, is to bring something positive, with the power of music π
Loving my new hat.
"See the pyramids along the Nile..."

It's been so diverse over the last week or soπ€π€ πΆ from ABBA to Jim Reeves to Prince's Purple Rain (I even surprised myself with that one)
Music really is magical and to be able to share some really special moments with our residents, their families and some amazing, dedicated staff is an honour π I'm feeling very grateful right now
This is absolutely true and it's so evident when old stories are shared by people who have impaired memory function π¦ It's not just the foot tapping or joining in with the songs, but it's also the reminiscent smiles and even the odd tear...
πΆ Throughout the entertainment, these connections are really what it's all about, wether we see it or not π
My heart melts π₯Ίπ
Today I was given some handmade earrings by a very beautiful lady after our afternoon of singing, celebrating Easter Sunday
