As you have seen, I've posted a couple of videos recently. Asking if anyone would like to volunteer to work with me on an issue that they might have, where cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy might help. I thought it might be useful if I explained in more detail, what cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy is and isn’t and what kind of issues we could work on together if you decide to be my case study.
So, what is cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy?
Quite simply, it's a really powerful and effective way to change your behaviours, thoughts and feelings.
The process involves setting achievable goals for you in line with whatever you're looking to change and then we work towards achieving them.
It's about working on today and what you need to do to shift now to make those positive changes, this isn't a therapy where you're talking for hours on end, nor is it going to take years to make a difference.
I'll show you techniques and give you tools to make the change you're looking to make in a session and then you can go away and apply these tools and techniques in all areas of your everyday life.
We will use hypnosis to really embed the changes, don’t worry if you've never been hypnotised before, it's nothing scary and you aren't in a trance. It is something you actively participate in, you're fully aware not under anyone's control, and it's simply a relaxed and focused state of attention. We use relaxation and imagery to bring about lasting change alongside other techniques that have been proven to work.
So what can it help with?
It may be that you have a fear or phobia, or you may simply want to work on having a more positive mindset to achieve a career or relationship goal, fear of public speaking or confidence issues. It doesn't always have to be that something needs fixing either. It could be that you want to grow towards a goal or positive life change. It can help with performance in competitions sports activities or physical challenges to ensure you're focused to succeed.
It can help you with big life decisions such as setting up a new business, or leaving a current job or retraining in a new career where something is just holding you back. Don’t forget this is completely free, I am fully insured to undertake case studies as a student, the only things I ask are that you attend three sessions of approximately one hour each via zoom and undertake any work in between the sessions that is appropriate, this may include listening to a relaxation recording for example. I will also need you to provide some written feedback for me at the end of the three sessions.
Don’t forget this is open to anyone so you might know someone who would benefit from this, and if this is the case please pass on to that person, I’d be happy speak to them to explain more.
