Student Chapter of AAEP at NC State CVM

The 2024 Equine Health Symposium will take place on February 24th and is for all horse owners and enthusiasts! Come and learn all things horses from vaccinations, joint injections, pre-purchase exam need to knows, and emergencies! There is even a hands on learning portion this year where you will learn how to perform a physical exam on a horse with tools from your send home emergency kit.

Several of our members had the opportunity to attend the AAEP 69th Annual Convention & Trade Show in San Diego, California the last few days. They were able to attend a variety of lectures, meet and network with equine practices across the country at the avenues internship night, and network with vital industry companies and representatives. A huge thank you to everyone that donated to make this trip possible!

Also, congratulations to Briana Blackwelder who was awarded a Zoetis scholarship at the convention!

Four of our members spent the weekend at Texas A&M participating in equine wetlabs. It was great spending time with our friends from Scaaep at University of Tennessee CVM and meeting new people from all over the country.

The 2023 Equine Health Symposium will be held February 18-19th and features 12 hours of CE credit for vets, vet techs, and farriers. This years topics include podiatry, pain management and complementary therapies.

On February 19th, horse owners and enthusiasts are invited to attend to learn more about horse health. We will cover topics such as hoof diseases, nutrition, and behavior.
