Canāt believe I got the opportunity to do a National Lottery Heritage Funded project during my degree (thanks Mark!!) The risoprinted posters were a huge success and will be displayed in homes and businesses around the St Helens borough, two posters going as far as New Zealand to some St Helens born people missing the town! Itās always great to celebrate heritage and it was so lovely to be a part of it!
Some earrings would be berry nice š

A recent collaboration brief idea between Pips Kit and Fruit Winders. Taking the coping strategies and cartoons used by Pips Kit and merging it with the comics from fruit winders to create an engaging and beneficial product for young children that may otherwise not get mental health help.

Last week I said I was going to start glass etching, this week Iām shrinky dinking š„“ Glass etching made my nose a lil too itchy and shrinky d***s look so much more fun.
Today Iāve played around with a different type of plastic, PET1 plastic only shrinks slightly, turns from clear to white, but still works! Next time Iāll try with #6 plastic and start making some cool designs!
My final re-design of The Uninhabitable Earth by David Wallace-Wells. Iāve been working on this for my second year of uni and finally submitted it to my tutor today š
A simple design for , they are currently working on raising awareness about the differences between the north/south divide. I included imagery depicting homes that are well looked after and colourful in the south, opposed to run down and dull homes in the north.

day 30, just one day to go!
Hereās some nice words thatās Iāve received in regards to my work! I always get such lovely comments but lately everyoneās been even nicer than usual.
Itās such a lovely area to work within because the people are so nice and welcoming, itās like a little online community where everyone helps each other š

has nearly finished!
The best part for me is being able to mock up my designs and see them come to life āØ
This is a collection of designs I did for a dummy brief with 24/7 blinds, I created a retro 70s feel to my designs for warmth in the home.
Being able to see what youāve created is completely different to just seeing the designs on paper, itās just the best!

for today is adapt! Iāve done a lot of adapting the past few years but the biggest is having to fit everything round a toddler. Mornings arenāt as simple as just waking up and getting dressed anymore š
The hardest part is setting time aside for me to get my work done, by the time my toddler is in bed I just want to sit and relax but I try and get at least an hour of work done first!

day 27 and weāre getting close to the end now!
As a designer I use many, many tools a lot of them being digital software (most of the creative cloud apps). I use procreate and Canva too but I also do a lot of physical work so I need allsorts of other tools!
There are lots of useful tools out there depending on what it is you want to do!
Itās Sunday, the sun is shining and the weather is mild. Take the day to breathe in some fresh air and take some time away from technology before the working week startsš³
BEE HAPPY! The weather is getting better and the days are getting longer! Donāt forget that tonight the clocks change and we lose an hour in bed š Good luck to everyone and their adjusting š

Colour plays a big part in graphic design, but it also plays a big part in everything! A good thing to look into is colour psychology and how different colours affect different people. It can help when designing (if you need a happy design youād more likely use yellow as itās an uplifting colour) or it can be used pretty much anywhere (painting a living room navy blue because itās the most calming).
If you want to look into colour theory a bit more I highly recommend āThe Worldās Favourite Colour Projectā by G.F Smith and University of Sussex! They go into depth about colour theory and did a whole research study into the worldās āfavouriteā colour! šØ

23 days of uploads and my insta still doesnāt look super fluid š
another one of the random things I think about when I upload for
Reality for me is just thoughts, behind every action, image or creation there are so many thoughts behind it. Something as simple as going out for a few drinks can create a whole wave of thoughts and emotions. Itās the same when doing work āis that neat enough?ā āWill this colour scheme work?ā āDoes it have the right effect?ā āCan I complete what I want to in the time I have?ā My reality is the making and the doing not the end result and I am definitely my worst critic, nothing I do will be good enough in my own eyes but anyone else can do the tiniest thing and Iād be beaming with pride š
I mean everyone has that little voice inside their head thatās just constantly nagging themā¦ right? š
If Iām ever just sitting in silence or staring off into the distance TRUST ME thereās a lot going on up there š

day 22 and itās time to talk about decisionsā¦
Iāve had a lot of big decisions to make over the past few years and Iād like to think Iāve make the right choices recently! I keep seeing 11:11 on the clock nearly everyday and apparently that means youāre on the right track so I think itās a positive sign!
After having my little girl I was really struggling mentally and physically so wasnāt able to go back to work. I applied for university again on a whim (Iāve been before and dropped off out not long afterwards). I wasnāt sure Iād be able to stick it out this time round or not but thanks to I honestly think I made the right choice. Theyāre so flexible with me, understanding that I have a daughter to look after, help me with anything I need and have made my overall university experience less stressful and enjoyable! Iād honestly recommend using a smaller university over a bigger one as Iād have never managed in another big university. This transition between has also given me the chance to spend more time with my daughter opposed to me going into full time work, now by the time I finish university sheāll be going into school so everything seems to be falling perfectly into place!
Iām 25 now and in my second year of university, itās never too late to chase your dreams so donāt give up on yourself, I never thought Iād be where I am today so have a lil faith! š
I think we all have that little voice inside us that tries to take us down, in some people itās bigger than it is in others.
But we have to learn to control it and know when weāre overthinking things. When youāre older you arenāt going to regret the things you did, youāre going to regret the things you didnāt do and I think we need to remember that sometimes š

day 17 and Iām excited to see where everyone does their creative work!!
I do a lot of my work in university, in bed, on the couch, outside and on the bureau in my living room.
I think my favourite place to work is my little bureau, it has everything I need in one place.
When I was in my āfurniture upcycling stageā it was one of the pieces I collected to do up and flip. I bought it from a lady clearing her late fathers home and when I got it back to my own home I didnāt have the heart to change anything about it, I felt like it held so many memoriesā¦ so I cleaned it up and now it sits proudly in front of my living room window so I can see the world go by while I work on my next piece! I wonder what the previous owner used it for? Did he sit and write letters, write stories or even just use it for storage? I like to romanticise itās previous usage if you canāt tell š
Have you ever bought a second hand piece and had anything interesting about it?

day 16 and weāre talking about highs and lows š¢
In life we have highs and lows, I know Iāve definitely hit rock bottom before and Iāve also been on top of the world. Lifeās a journey so thereās gonna be some ups and downs you just buckle in and do your best to enjoy the ride.
Iāve definitely had highs and lows with my work too, times I donāt feel like what I do is good enough or just beating myself up about things that havenāt gone rightā¦ this usually leads to forgetting the high points, when a lot of the lows are usually minuscule compared to the highs! You have to remember that weāre all human and we canāt be perfect 100% of the time, we have to allow ourselves that leniency of good vs bad!

letting us show the process we take in order to create our designs!
This was a poster creation from last year for MoMA, I wanted to create something simplistic and contemporary looking so I eventually decided I wanted to work around the idea of dots and lines. I took inspiration from the colour blind tests but used colours that contrasted each other instead so that you could still read the words within.
