Menopause Doula Nottingham
Menopause Doula
LET’S TALK TESTOSTERONE!!!
I was so pleased that my recent request for Testosterone was fulfilled without question. However I’ve just been to collect it from the pharmacy to find a ‘CONTROLLED DRUGS’ sticker attached. The last time I saw anything like this was when I collected a Morphine prescription for my mum years ago (which I totally understand). I mean, seriously, if someone sees this it could make them think twice about using Testosterone when it’s actually perfectly safe when used correctly. If you’re struggling to understand all things menopause and need a helpful guide please contact me to arrange a consultation. Rant over 😆
There is still time to book onto this workshop this Saturday, you won't regret it 😃
My Women's Wellness Workshop is coming up on Saturday May 21st 10-1 at FlowMotion.Life Studio in Matlock.
The morning is specifically tailored towards women at any stage of the menopause. This time can be extremely challenging for so many of us, with a whole host of symptoms & emotions. Yoga & all of its tools can be really helpful during this time, however your regular practice may need a few adjustments to support you through this stage.
This Workshop for all stages of the Menopause is designed to enable you to look at your practice, to see what is working right now & what may be more effective.
There are so many symptoms of menopause, far too many to list here but they include:
Brain Fog
Fatigue
Hot Flushes
Loss/Grief
Weight Gain
Difficulty making decisions
Irritibility & Anger
Feeling Invisible
Lack of purpose
Insomnia
If any of these resonate with you then I do hope you can come along.
We will begin the session with a Women’s Circle which just allows everyone the opportunity to share experiences (speaking is optional so there is no pressure). This enables women to feel that their voice/experience is valid. This is so important as women can often feel invisible & not relevant as they approach the menopause.
We will focus on helpful breathing techniques, yoga postures (including restorative poses) to help with the above symptoms & emotions.
There will also be time for self reflection & journalling over a cup of tea so notebooks will be useful. The aim is that by the end of the session you will have some techniques/tools to enable you to cope with the Menopause more confidently. Please note the session will also be suitable for beginners to yoga.
Investment: £30 (non-refundable).
Booking through FlowMotion.Life Studio or for more information please contact me on [email protected]
This will be a briliiant workshop with the lovely Yvonne who I have been practicing with for over 6 years now. I only recommend on here people or things that I have tried myself and I very highly recommend Yvonne 🙏

How old were you, when you found out that menopause is not optional?
Menopause transition is not a standalone time in a person’s life. Menopause is not a condition or process that sits in its own
physiological bubble that may only affect a few.
- Menopause is not optional.
- Menstruation starts.
- Menstruation stops.
- Typically over a 40 year time span.
In that respect, menopause is not complicated. However the bigger picture of this well known fact of our human biology is yet to be given the full consideration it deserves.
In addition, whilst the mechanics of menopause has not changed, the life we live has.
It's great that more women are now starting to use HRT but not such good news that the suppliers do not seem to be able to keep up with this demand. if you're having any issues with HRT supply please read this article for further information.
If you aren't on HRT but would like more information on it or anything else menopause related please feel free to contact me to arrange a consultation.
I've been on my own HRT 'journey' for a few years now and tried several different types so I understand the issues many women have.
The British Menopause Society has issued an update on HRT supply to provide guidance to BMS members and clinical practitioners on the current availability of HRT products.
Simply click the link below for full update and drop a like on this post to help it get seen! 👀💚

These workshops are always very good if anyone is interested in attending. Yvonne is an excellent yoga teacher 🙏
Join me for the second in a series of Menopause Yoga Workshops in which we will focus on the time when we are in Menopause. This time in a Woman's life is often referred to as the season of Autumn-Winter, a Vata time of life.
It's not unusual to struggle with feelings of overwhelm, “brain fog” & fatigue this time. The focus of the workshop will be on forward bending restorative sequences to calm & settle the mind & bring the attention inwards.
All of the Workshops will each include a women’s circle at the beginning with the opportunity for sharing menopausal experiences (it’s optional), for around 5 minutes each. Enabling women to feel that their voice/experience is valid is so important as women can often feel invisible & not relevant as they approach the menopause.
The sessions will also include pranayama, a full yoga sequence, a restorative posture and will allow time for self- reflection & journaling over a cup of tea.
Investment: The Workshops can be taken as stand-alone sessions for £30 each (non-refundable) or as a package of all three as symptoms/experiences can be felt throughout all of the stages of menopause.
(Please note that if you book for 2 of the 3 workshops, it will be £55).
Yoga for the Post-Menopause will be Saturday May 21st 10-1pm
Booking through Motion Life Studios, please contact Wendy at
[email protected] if you wish to book on to more than one of the workshops in this series.
This is totally unacceptable and I can't help thinking that if it was Vi**ra something would have been done about it a long time ago 😤
This week, we saw Carolyn Harris MP discuss with parliament an update on the Menopause (Support and Services) Act 2021, the introduction of a new payment plan for HRT.
The act approved by the government in October 2021, included the guidelines that if you live in England and have HRT on a repeat prescription that is a stable and ongoing plan, you will only have to have it prescribed once a year with one payment of £9.35, a saving of over £200 a year!
Parliament shared the news this week that there would be a delay to this new payment plan, with the new proposed deadline of April 2023, instead of April 2022.
Outraged by the delay, Carolyn took to social media this week to share she has sent a letter to the Minister for Patient Safety and Primary Care on behalf of the thousands of women let down by the announcement.

Today marks 6 years since I started my menopausing journey at the age of 43. To say it has been an eventful 6 years would be somewhat of an understatement and I have recently realised that I actually starting menopausing at the age of 39 and my first symptoms was dry eyes!! I have never had a hot flush but have had most of the other symptoms over the years and this is why I took the decision to train as a Menopause Doula. I want to help other women avoid having to go through the trials and tribulations that I have. I am very much looking forward to working with women on a one to one basis using a whole person approach. I would be very grateful if you could like and share my business page in order for me to reach more women who I know are suffering unnecessarily. They do say that if you love your job you’ll never work a day in your life and it has taken me 49 years to find something that I feel passionately about.
