A year ago this month I made this account to get a fresh start with everything. I think it ended up been a really good year, with lots of healing despite everything. And some really beautiful and unexpected miracles✨

Thank you to everyone who’s stuck with me so far and joined my life since last year💜

September in Kentucky✨

This photo was taken September last year. I posted it on Instagram a year ago today, and within the hour, the most traumatizing experience of my entire life began.

September (and autumn in general) used to me my favorite time of year, and now it’s nothing but a season-long traumaversary. This is my first year dealing with the anniversaries of everything those horrible people did to me a year ago. The truth about their lies and betrayal would have surely gone public anyway without this photo, but for some reason it all began today.

My uncle’s lily.

Like my mother, my uncle was an avid gardener and loved plants and flowers. So when he passed away in 2006 he was honored by having a lily created and named for him.

It’s called Dick Wicke (Hemerocallis), and it’s far more beautiful than any watercolor can capture.

Hand and a Hummingbird✨

Sketch I made when I was sixteen, using my own hand as a reference. I’ve always viewed God as a hummingbird.

Prints will be available on my website soon.

“There’s Hope in the Forest”

An original work I painted years ago that’s inspired by a scene from my book. Updated it for a watercolor canvas.

Still working on my online store but this will be available to buy as a print there soon✨

Cogito Ergo Ver Est.

I think, therefore it is spring.

(I was taking photos of the flower crowns I made for my online store and accidentally did something artsy✨)

I have business cards✨😊

I was told all my life I should grow up to be an artist and sell my work, but I always struggled with giving away my drawings and paintings, and hated the idea of taking requests and having to labor on artwork that meant nothing to me or that my heart just wasn’t in. Learning that I could make and sell prints of my own work was a life-changer, and I’ll be working on that the rest of this year.

I’ve been updating my website (focusing primarily on art, now — no longer marketing myself as simply an author), and working on creating an online store. One of these cards will be sent with every order. Still working on finishing up some pieces, making prints, and just overall getting everything set up and organized.
