"I just don't feel in control of my life."

Over my 10 years of being a trainer, I have helped numerous clients navigate depression and use fitness as a tool against it. When we break down why we feel how we do, "I just don't feel in control of my life " is an answer that comes up with many of them!

When we look at why that is more often than not, it tends to be because they are letting emotions and how they feel decide what actions they take for the day!

The problem with this is are emotions are not under our control, and we can try to influence them, but they do what they want sometimes! So it would make sense if emotions control us, and we can't control what feelings we feel as though we are not in control. In that situation, we aren't in control of how we think!

Enter fitness and the opportunity to make ourselves do s**t we don't FEEL like doing several times a week! Once you master moving through emotions and prove to yourself that emotions be damned if it's on the list, it gets done, you start to take back the feeling of control!!

Denvil came to me with one main goal of wanting to hit a 315lb deadlift. Needless to say when he pause pulled 325lb with two 26lb chains for 3 reps he was pretty stoked!

One of my favorite parts of this job is look people get when they do something they set out to do! It's this unique mix of pride, excitement, and accomplishment!

We have been given these amazing bodies to pilot and there is this amazing feeling you find when you push it to grow. We here and ready to help when you're ready to work!!

My guy putting in some conditioning work!

Why would anyone want to walk on a treadmill when they can hit sh** with a hammer?? One of the biggest things that can derail our progress is mental burnout!

The truth is most people won't stay committed to a program that has them repeat movements over and over again with little to no change.

When I was in the middle of my back pain I would have never belived I would be able to RDL weight like this ever again!

Due to poor programing decision I compressed my spacer below my L4 and was experiencing pain that would never leave me alone. It took me nearly 3 years and a whole lot of learning to fix

I love working with younger kids and helping them grow in something that gave me so much confidence growing up!

Helping them steer away from decisions I made in training that put unnecessary mileage on my body yet still helping them attain their goals! Getting them away from just the straight bar and teaching them the importance of reinforcing a motor with different tools!

If you have kids getting into fitness, ensure they have the correct information and guidance! A hungry kid with a nasty work ethic can damage their body without it!!
