420 DAY🍀
Every year on April 20th, cannabis producers, consumers, advocates, and those who are just curious have long celebrated 420 Day. Once an unconventional day, the day has become the rallying cry of those who seek to legalize ma*****na for medicinal and recreational uses.

420 DAY HISTORY🌱
Since the 1970s, people have celebrated 420 Day. Why 420, though? Many myths circulate about how 420 came to mean cannabis or smoking ma*****na. Most of them are untrue or unverifiable. However, as related in Time magazine, one tells the story of five teenagers from San Rafael High School in Marian County, California. In 1971, they would meet at 4:20 PM, and eventually, 420 became their code for ma*****na. One of the five, Dave Reddix, worked as a roadie for the Grateful Dead and further popularized the term. In 1991, High Times magazine printed a flier initially handed out by a group of Deadheads in Oakland, California. The flyer was an invitation to a 420 event to smoke ma*****na. It was on April 20, 1990, at 4:20 PM.

Chakri Memorial Day 👑
Thailand observes Chakri Memorial Day as a public holiday on April 6th every year. Officially known as “King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke the Great Day” and “Chakri Dynasty Memorial Day,” this holiday commemorates the establishment of the Chakri Dynasty by King Rama I in 1782, over two centuries ago. One of King Rama I’s first decrees was to make Krung Thep (“City of Angels,” also known as Bangkok) the capital of Siam.

Chakri Memorial Day not only commemorates the coronation and contributions of King Rama I but all the kings of the Chakri Dynasty, culminating in His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn (Rama X), the current reigning monarch. The reign of the Chakri Dynasty defines the Rattanakosin period from 1782–1932, before Siam became a constitutional monarchy.

Makha Bucha is an important religious day for Thai Buddhists. This year, it falls on next Monday, March 6th, which will be marked with many religious candle-lit ceremonies and gatherings. For those who do not follow Buddhist traditions, however, Makha Bucha is still recognized as a significant day, but mainly for its prohibition of alcohol sales.

The second most important Buddhist holiday in Thailand falls on the full moon day of the third lunar month, which usually falls in February or March. The day is an occasion for Thai Buddhists to pay homage to the Buddha and his teachings.

The significance of Makha Bucha dates back to the time of the Buddha, more than 2,500 years ago. According to Buddhist scriptures, on this day, 1,250 of the Buddha’s disciples gathered spontaneously to listen to a sermon by the Buddha.

The event was notable because the disciples had not been summoned and they came from different places without prior agreement. It is believed that this gathering of the Buddha’s disciples was a sign of their purity and dedication to the teachings of the Buddha.
