A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for Whiston Brook catchment. ⚠️⚠️

Flooding is possible for: Whiston Brook at Whiston, be prepared.

River levels are forecast to rise as a result of a period of wet weather from around midnight tonight (27/01/2021) until Friday morning.

The heaviest rainfall is likely to be during the early hours of Thursday morning, becoming more patchy during daylight hours. Given the saturated conditions, we expect river levels to respond readily to this rainfall and currently we expect to see rivers peaking between 06:00 and 08:00 Thursday morning.

Consequently, flooding of low lying land, roads and farmland is possible tomorrow morning.

Areas most at risk include Whiston Brook.
