In this Special Edition of The Firemark, I visit the 343 Hero Challenge which is an athletic competition to pay tribute to the fallen heroes of 9/11 and interview many local Firefighters who coordinate, participate and support the event.

In the second half of this episode, I interview a NYC 1st responder who was on scene at the World Trade Center the day the towers fell. He takes us through his day and describes in detail the experience and the aftermath.

As the NFL playoffs begin I decided to repost something I posted on my personal page last week:

So the first question Damar Hamlin asks when he awakens is "who won the game". Maybe Roger Goodell should answer that question for him and tell him that the game that he loves and almost died playing for means crap and won't be rescheduled. The NFL is a complete s**t show first with lying about not wanting to restart the game and then doubling down and covering it up. Now they are creating these nonsense neutral site scenarios?? Really? So you can reschedule all the games from the pandemic season but it's impossible to lose the bye week before the Super Bowl to get this in. All 32 teams should secede from this garbage of a league and form their own league.

Side note: I don't know what caused Hamlin's arrest but it definitely wasn't commotio cordis. So all you MDs that are spouting this crap are full of it and I am willing to put my Paramedic licence and 15 years experience against your med licence at any time and make you look stupid. PS I also have a code save from a football game.


Prayers for a full recovery for Hamlin and becoming one of the 5 percenters. Kudos also to the Bengals and Bills organizations for being professional and first class. Your teams and the 30 others deserve better than to play for this league that exploits players in every way in order to fatten their wallets.
