I haven't created much since Lily was born, so it feels good to get back into a more regular art practice. This is the initial stages of an artwork titled.. ' Spirit Soaked in Glitter'.

I thought I would share more of my process pieces. I hope you enjoy. Amy x

'Praying for rain'... work in progress. Continuing to explore new art styles. Loving these loose and messy paint strokes. Ignoring perfection feels great... and needed.

I felt really called to draw a deer. Maybe it's my new role as a mother urging me to draw softer creatures. I don't know. But when I looked up the meaning behind a deer in my Spirit Animals guide book, it read the following:

You've been involved in some aggressive, negative circumstances and need to seek out safe, nurturing situations and people. More than ever, you need to trust your gut instinct. You're poised for an exciting adventure, one that will take you down many different paths and lead to many important insights. Be gentle with yourself and others.

I will leave you to ponder this one.. perhaps it's a message you need today as well.

This piece was inspired by a visit to nature. One of those ones that just poured out of me. All my favourite things appearing here - mushrooms, hummingbirds, sunflower, the comic eye and the dragonfly inspired by my partner (who has been seeing them everywhere at the moment).

Artwork created sooooo long ago. By baby Amy in the corporate world. Even back then I can see how much I yearned for freedom and to be closer to nature.

I have a huge print of this rolled up waiting to be framed one day when we move into our own place. I don't have prints of her available but comment below if you would be interested and I might put her in the shop.

I took this photo back in 2020. I had just moved to the coast on my own. I had no 'real' job and was selling organic mushroom tonics at the markets. I am so proud of this girl. Brave enough to take a leap of fate, move away from corporate, and just freefall into life. Like Micky Hart wrote - ‘Adventures don’t begin until you get into the forest. That first step is an act of faith.’

I have been so MIA on here lately and looking forward to sharing some new offerings this year. Lots of changes and growing unfolding behind the scenes and no doubt you will feel this through my art.

Some of the most magical moments I have encountered is when I have harnessed the power of the moon cycle. Using her strength alongside my own intentions to call in my goals and dreams. I have called in a partner, a baby, and a business alongside her force, and have never felt more connected to nature than when I am in tune with her.

Earth Mama, inspired by my own journey from Maiden to mother.

On June 24th, under the strawberry Full Moon, our baby girl, Lily, made her journey earthside. I am thankful to my body for safely bringing her into the world and to my partner for being the one to deliver her. I am so amazed at what our bodies are capable of. We are so much stronger than we think we are - in body and in mind.

Becoming a mama has been a process of breaking and growing. A death and a rebirth. And surrender upon more surrender. It’s been the craziest, amazing, scary, and sleep-deprived ride of my life and my heart has never been fuller.

So this artwork if for all the beautiful Goddess Mama’s out there. You are magic! A warrior! A force to be reckoned with! When you are so tired you can’t see straight.. Remember.. You got this! Trust your intuition!

This piece is an extra special one to me...

I had a dream just under a year ago of a pregnant woman with circles spinning all over her body. When I drew her I found it really interesting that she appeared in her own womb (not planned)... just something that showed up on the canvas. What I found even CRAZIER about this artwork is that I fell pregnant only about a month or two after I drew her (again not a planned event - but a lovely surprise for me and my partner).

This artwork is now framed and sitting on a chest of drawers in our living room, amongst some candles and crystals and I hope to call on her energy when bub decides to join us, earthside, in a few weeks. Gah! So many emotions. So much excitement and joy, yet total fear of the unknown all mixed in.

While I am here... this post is a little heads up to say that I am taking some time off to welcome a new bubba and to create space for new. I feel loads of change bubbling as I transition into motherhood - especially with my creativity and I want to give myself time to expand and explore these new pulls. So I won't be as active on here.
