Day One at the Cherrie LaPorte Glass Studio Sale was Amazing, and I had to buy a few stunning pieces myself, which I'll be sure to post pictures of! The sale only lasts until tomorrow from 10-3 pm and the address is 9805 Del Dios Highway. There is some parking available, and people to help guide you, so please.dont sleep on this! Thank you so much to all those who came by today. I had a table with some of my own pieces, as well as greeting cards and stickers, set up. So excited to announce my brand-new class schedule for Spring 2024, beginning Thursday, April 11th Studio in S. Escondido! This will be a 4 session class, *lasting for 4 weeks*. This time around, I'll be teaching on Thursdays and Fridays only, and offering a fun NEW afternoon class for EUSD students, ages 8+ who have a minimum day on Thursdays! Schedule as follows:

🌺Thursday Classes

Th- 10-12 pm- Private Youth class (full)
Th- 2-4 pm- Youth Beginning- Drawing, painting, Color Theory, the 7 Elements of Art, and more! All materials included, only $75
Th- 5-7 pm- Adult Beginning- Drawing, painting, Color Theory, the 7 Elements of Art, and more! All materials included, only $75

Hi Friends just revealing some new work to announce official dates for my new upcoming classes at Brilliant Spectrum Art Studio in Escondido! My next 6-week.session begins October 11, and the schedule is as follows:

🌺Tuesdays from 12-2 pm (Adults)
🌺Tuesdays from 4-6 pm (Adults)
🌺Wednesdays from 12-2 pm (Adults)
🌺Wednesdays from 4-6 pm (Youth, ages 8+)

We will be learning new drawing and painting techniques, using acrylic and watercolor paints, pens, ink, stencils and more to create exciting mixed media pieces. We will study and use the 7 Principles of Art to give life to our own, personalized pieces, while learning about and practicing with the properties and capacities of varied water media. 6 classes (12 instructional hours) are only $75 with materials included. 15% sibling discount available.

Brenda Townsend is an Arts Educator with 16 years experience, teaching students of all ages and abilities! Her work can be seen in downtown Escondido, in Phase I of the Esco Alley Art exhibit, and in private collections in San Diego and beyond!She has worked at most of our local schools, as well as the Center for the Arts Escondido as an Arts Educator and now as a Scenic Artist. I am thrilled to be included in the current Inland Painter's Group Art Show, which opened tonight !! I have two works included and for sale, one of which is pictured here! This is an acrylic painting on canvas of a mosaic totem in Queen Califia's Magical Circle in Kit Carson Park, Escondido...One of my favorite locations in the entire city! If you've never visited, do yourself a favor and make a point of doing so! This is my first time participating in a group show, but I hope it will be the first of many. It is simply lovely, with so many talented artists showing...Be sure to go by and visit, if you get a chance prior to closing on September 28th!🌺

I've been so busy with theatre lately, that I haven't had any time to post about art!! Just wanted to share a story about a recent collaboration that I did with a dear friend, . We were planning for 2022, and wanted to come up with something super-special to wear to the event. My friend, who is a Graphic Designer of the first order, had an incredible idea and instructed me to brainstorm some original artwork based on the theme of Tiki Oasis! I did, and I'll be sharing how we turned those initial brainstorms into a unique and wearable product!🌺

A few pics from our recent weekend in LA, visiting dear friends! While we were there, I painted two portraits (as a gift) of their adorable fur-baby, Narmo! We went out to dinner at an amazing hidden restaurant in the Garment District, walked in Griffith Park, ate sun-warmed figs right off a neighbor's tree, and worked on an exciting art project whose results I will share soon. The last pic is of some very cool breezeblock on the house next door. Fun to get away from it all, if only for a couple of days!🌺

Photo drop of the electrical box that I did a Collab on with last month! There is a large, sad, drab and ugly electrical box near a school in our neighborhood that always offended me on our daily walks. It was always such an eyesore, and I was also seeking a fun Art Collab opportunity for me and my girl, so naturally I had the brainstorm to paint it up! However, the subject matter was all ..."Non-binary pterodactyls holding hands." We wanted to do something fun and colorful for the neighbors and school kids and staff, with a good message, and also to have a blast doing art together.... I think we succeeded!!!💗

This is a portion of a commission at a private residence in Escondido that I recently completed! The owners wanted this stucco mailbox piece painted with surrounding flora and fauna to make it blend into it's environment. I loved painting outside by myself in the early morning, listening to the many types of birds and using the owner's succulents as my inspiration!🌺

Haven't posted for awhile about my own art, because I've been so busy with my new job, but here is a pic of my scenic art hanging on set at POWPAC'S production of A.R. Guerney's The Dining Room last month! The set was gorgeous, and I was so thankful for the opportunity to be a small part of this wonderful production, directed by the talented Brent A. Stringfield! I gifted this piece to POWPAC, and I heard that it may be raffled off at the ACT awards in August with proceeds going to benefit local community theatre💗

Some more journal highlights from our epic, 3-week trip to the UK in April! These pages take us from the Shannon Region in West Ireland, where we encountered the Grianan of Aileach, a restored stone fort from the 8th or 9th century, to the incredible Giant's Causeway in County Antrim, to our lovely ferry crossing from Belfast to Glasgow where we toasted with a bit of whiskey (both Irish and Scottish!). Lastly, I included an interpretation of one of the symbols of Scotland, the Unicorn and a bit of the national soda of Scotland, a can of Irn Bru! Still churning out these pages, and I'm determined to finish them!🌺
