A gift of appreciation was presented to the Chief Guest, Ms. Shalika Jayalath, by Ms. Harshini Perera and Ms. Ashanthi Ambawatte.

In Ms. Shalika Jayalath’s speech, she reiterated the importance of rekindling the spirit of Girl Guiding with the help of the pioneers in the Girl Guiding Movement while adapting to the modern world.

**UPCOMING EVENTS:**

Upcoming events highlighted include the Topaz Community Service Project.
A full presentation was released to the members on the work done by the members for the years 2023/2024.
The annual report was read by the former secretary, Ms. Darshika Perera.
The audit report was presented by the former treasurer, Ms. Gayani Weerasekara.
After the AGM, the members enjoyed a fellowship morning.

TREFOIL GUILD DAY OUT AT MALIMA CLUB HOUSE USWETAKEIYAWA ON 16 MARCH 2024

All the members kept the ball rolling smoothly. Everyone was happy and looking forward to the next outing, demonstrating their efficiency and future cooperation with the committee. A few activists included selecting the dancing queen, musical chairs, quizzes, singing and dancing. The group also enjoyed a walk to the beach.

SPREAD THE LOVE THROUGH CHARITY WORK

The Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association Trefoil Guild organized a school project on the 10th of November 2023 at the Midalana Janapada Primary School Morapitiya. The function took place in the school premises with 52 students, their principal and 9 teachers. The students were gifted with books, stationery items, school bags, uniforms, shoes & with a delicious lunch pack.
On behalf of the Trefoil Guild, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors for their generous support and sponsorship of the school project.

“OUR AGM 2023”

The Trefoil Guild had its Annual General Meeting at Girl Guide Headquarters, on 22nd July 2023, and Ms. Kanthi Fernando one of the former Chief Commissioner’s of the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association graced the occasion.
Most of the members attended the meeting and enjoyed the fellowship after the meeting.

The members of the Trefoil Guild are adults who have ceased to be actively involved in Guiding, but wish to support Guiding and keep alive the spirit of Guiding in their day to day life. Since of late, non-Guides, but like the ideals of Guiding, are also permitted to obtain membership.

The Trefoil Guild was inaugurated in the year 1957 and since then the Guild had supported the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association in their programmes and activities.

The Trefoil Guild is affiliated with the International Scouts and Guides Fellowship and have many opportunities in participating at international events.

The Trefoil Guild had their annual get together on 19 March 2023, at the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Headquarters, Colombo 7
The members enjoyed themselves by taking part in fun activities including selecting the Avurudu kumari sporting the best newspaper attire
There was a large gathering including past and present Chief Commissioners of the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association.

Inauguration

The Trefoil Guild was inaugurated with 25 members on 30 August 1957, its founder being Ms. Edna Alvis.

This is a group formed by adults who have ceased to be active members of the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association. The Trefoil Guild is incorporated in the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association.
Since then the Guild had been very active and had supported the Guide movement in their programs and activities in addition to the Guilds own programs.

Our Aims

To promote the spirit of the Guide Promise and Law in all those women, who have taken the Guide Promise and Law and to carry out the Guide ideals in their daily lives, and in the community in which they live in
To actively support the Guide Association in their activities
To serve the communities in which they live in and work.

Objectives
To keep alive among its members the spirit of the Guide Promise and Law
Bring that spirit into the communities in which they live and work through active service to them.
To give active support to Guiding as far as possible
Promote friendship amongst its members through out the country and the word.

Membership

Open to Former members of the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association over eighteen (18) years of age, who have ceased active Guiding.
Adults who did not have the opportunity to be a Guide, but who believe in these ideas of Girl International
In the year 1962 the Trefoil Guild was affiliated with the International Fellowship of Former Scouts and Guides (IFOFSAG). Presently it is known as International Guide and Scout Fellowship (ISGF).

The members of the Trefoil Guild had the opportunity of attending the inaugural meeting of the IFOFSAG and three members were elected to serve on the IFOFSAG committee.
Since then the Trefoil Guild members had the opportunity of participating in conferences, gatherings, workshops, meetings and various other events abroad.

A contingent of 10 members including the Chief Commissioner of the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association participated at the 14 Asia Pacific Gathering held in Bengaluru (Bangalore) from 12 to 17 September 2015.

Since then the members of the Trefoil Guild participated at many International events.

Opportunities

Personally keep alive the spirit of the Promise and Law as laid down by Lord Robert Baden-Powel, Founder of the Scout and Guide Movement, in a process of continuous personal development.
Meet friends and promote friendship among its members through out the country and the world.
Participating at events, service projects and events abroad.
Usually the Guild organizes three main events for the year one being a charity project.
