It’s deep, driving and suited for the arrival of a long hot summer.
I wanted to share this mostly because I feel Miami's chapter in the American dance music canon struggles to be as well known here in the states as it is in Western Europe. Till this day, every time I am in Europe I get asked about Murk by music heads and DJs.
I met OSCAR G and Ralph Falcon in 2002 while working at the old Space Miami. We immediately became friends and they soon got to teach me a great deal about music. It wasn’t until the following year that two other musical mentors, Stryke and Danny Tenaglia DJ, really enabled my understanding of their impact and legacy. Their catalog of revered works from the early 90s is still celebrated and getting played back on the regular at clubs everywhere. If you don’t know, turn it up and listen in to a sound that shook the planet.

I could never stop being grateful for being able to share music with others. Thank you to those who were part of another beautiful late night at EP. Thanks to Deejay Ray and Ennio Skoto for giving the night a feel and handing me a really lovely floor. Pickle resident nights really have their own feel.

DJing, to be able to share music with others this way, is a privilege. These experiences are a privilege. To live this life. To be a resident at a magical venue for 8 years is a privilege. To have had these incredible teachers and friends along the way. To dance in front of the pickle stacks and get those warm mid bass kicks to the chest. So many people to thank for so much. Needed to be stated.

We got much cool s**t coming up this year, it's exciting. :)

I'm going to do better with posting the highlight tunes of each party. I will go back to posting more set lists as well. I am a DJ, a collector, not a producer. I feel in general that DJs could do much more to pay due to the great artists whose records we play out. These artists are largely in part enabling us to work and grow. If you like someone's music: make people aware of it, support it, buy it and play it for everyone you know at every opportunity. This is and always will be about enthusiasm and sharing.
