Eats on Feets - Manitoba
Connecting Babies and Breastmilk: A Perfect Match! Eats On Feets is a world-wide network for those who have made the informed choice to share breastmilk.
This is the Oregon Chapter of Eats On Feets. Please post your requests/donations on the Community tab or Posts tab and we will share them to the Home tab. Please comment on the original post by clicking on the photo if there is one or the time stamp under the poster's name. Thank you!
Always good to know the optimal and acceptable guidelines. That said, please know that properly frozen foods do not go bad. Human milk will lose some enzymatic properties over time, but many older healthy babies could still benefit from this milk! Just disclose all details when posting or connecting with a family so that they can make an informed choice.
The more visibility a post has, the easier it is for a family in need to feed their baby! Visibility also normalizes milksharing which is so very important! The more you interact with our posts and with offers and requests, the greater the chance for a baby in need to find human milk!
Please join our group to post your request πππ https://www.facebook.com/groups/eatsonfeetsmanitoba
For all families to feel welcome on our network, we encourage all members to use language that includes all families. Not all families have a mama, and not all donors identify as mama either. π
New blog post!
Whether you are a donor, a recipient, a volunteer, or a perinatal professional, we'd love to learn about your experience with milksharing or supporting milksharing!

Buying milk is a potentially unsafe practice. We do not allow the selling of milk on our network or via our network. Please always let us know if you have been approached by someone who wants to sell you their milk.

Dearest reader,
It is my great pleasure to formally invite you to partake in the age-old tradition, of which it is centuries old, of sharing your breastmilk with others.
Now dear readers, donβt be shy. If you have a bountiful stash, reach out to those who may not be as fortunate in your milky wealth and share your coffers.
Yours Truly,
Lady Whistledown.
Are you also donating to a milk bank or do you want to donate milk that you obtained from a milk bank? Please know to still screen recipients and that recipients may still want to screen you for their own specific needs!
Kind reminder that not all families in need of milk have a mama. Please use language that addresses all families in our community. Thank you!
Our groups are public because we believe that there is safety in transparency and because we cannot take responsibility for screening members as this could potentially give a false sense of security. In private milksharing arrangements, donor and recipient are the sole responsible parties.

Our guidelines clearly state that we do not allow posts asking for or offering pump parts or anything other than bag-for-bag (or bottle) replacement. We also don't allow bartering.
But why could these practices compromise safe community-based milksharing?

Hint: It is under the 3 dots or 3 lines!
We are a network of Facebook groups for families to offer or receive human milk when needed. Our groups are public because we believe there is safety in transparency. The network is 100% volunteer-run and we cannot vet people joining a closed group as this could cause a false sense of security. Our group rules and the 4 Pillars of Safe Milksharing are there to support safe community milksharing. You, as a community, have shown us that you take care of each other by letting us know when something is off. Thank you for being here and for supporting your community, especially the babies!

All children have the right to breastmilk. Eats on Feets does not endorse any order of priority for the sharing of human milk with babies and young children. https://www.eatsonfeetsresources.org/who-needs-donor-milk/
Did you know that foods, when properly frozen, are kept safe from bacterial contamination almost indefinitely? Recommendations are for quality only as enzymatic processes may affect this over time.
