Tina and J's Great Escape
A girl, a guy, and a cat trade in the city-life for a nomadic one. Goodbye Boston, hello open road! Watch us make all the mistakes so you don't have to.
We created this page to document the adventure for ourselves, family, and friends.
Last July, Christina and I spent most of the month with Teo and Sam in the Paradise Valley of Montana. They live a stone's throw from one of my favorite hikes in the entire world: PINE CREEK LAKE. Since I had some time off, Christina and I decided to do a backpacking trip up to Pine Creek Lake and spend a few nights camping there. Here's our story. Enjoy!

UPDATE 27: Buena Vista, Colorado
Colorado continues to impress! Buena Vista has been one of our favorite stops yet. We had two absolutely gorgeous off-grid sites on public land. These sites are great bc they cost $0 and the views are mind-blowing. Also, Tina got ambushed by chipmunks and I went prospecting for gold : )

Remember 6 months ago when you all were like "More of Christina cooking!" Without further ado, here's an episode showcasing Tina's cooking skills. In this video she shows how you can make STEAK SOUS VIDE without having to buy one of those expensive sous vide cookers. We do it redneck style with a cooler from a thrift store : ) Enjoy!

UPDATE 26: Telluride, Colorado!
Felt bad and boujee living it up in Telluride. It weirdly reminded us of a Cambridge, MA stashed in the mountains. We ate like kings and explored the ghost town of Alta, following in Nikola Tesla's footsteps. So cool!

TELLURIDE: Bougie Western Ski Town - RV Travel Vlog #26 Telluride has everything...albeit with a little more expensive taste. The weather was all over the place. Always wet or on the verge of raining. We camped at...
UPDATE 25: Ouray, Colorado!
After being in the desert for so long, we were desperate for some precipitation, trees, and awe-inspiring mountain views. Ouray did not disappoint. The Million Dollar Highway was the prettiest drive we've done thus far, and Silverton captured our hearts. There were waterfalls around every turn - too many to count. Definitely going back! Enjoy : )

Hooray for OURAY! RV Travel Vlog #25 Coming out of the desert, we were in for a pleasant surprise in Ouray, Colorado the Switzerland of America! This stop features bears, snow, beautiful mountai...

ALIENS AT CAPITOL REEF?! RV Travel Vlog #24 We were having a fire on BLM land and saw something completely baffling...
UPDATE #23 - Bryce Canyon National Park!
Hoodoo...a great Scrabble word if you have 4 O's. We felt some serious interplanetary vibes at Bryce. This spot is one of a kind. After hiking around the canyon, we went to Ebenezer's Barn and Grill for a ho-down! A short, but memorable stay!
https://youtu.be/3s5o1S1dVDI
BRYCE IS NYCE! RV Travel Vlog #23 We had a quick, but memorable stop in Bryce! We spent one day in the canyon hiking the Fairyland Loop Trail. It was a long, dry hike, and luckily it was over...
UPDATE #22 - ZION NATIONAL PARK!
Even with the insane crowds and vain attempts to get shuttle tix, we still had a marvelous time at Zion. The insane beauty of this little canyon makes it all worth it. If you go there, bring your bike!!

BREATHTAKING beauty at ZION - RV Travel Vlog #22 Zion felt like a really sacred place for us...you have the Virgin River, red rock mountains and beautiful lush forest everywhere. Like the Garden of Eden or ...
Since Facebook Creator Studio is the literal worst, we're not going to be posting natively to Facebook anymore. Don't fret however, as I'll be sharing YouTube links here instead. YOU'LL STILL BE ABLE TO WATCH OUR CONTENT ON THIS PAGE! That is all. ZION update posting here shortly : )
UPDATE #21 - After spending a week at Lake Powell I think we can truly appreciate the windy season lol. Every day was a futile battle against wind and sand. Despite this, we made the most of it and enjoyed our little spot on the beach! Next time we're getting a houseboat for the week : )
UPDATE #19 - After a hot few weeks in the desert, we needed to cool down so headed straight for the Colorado River! But unfortunately, our A/C failed in Bullhead City and we were once again plagued by triple digit temps. This time we were ready and spent each scorching day in the river at our own "private" beach : )
UPDATE #18 - SAN DIEGO and JOSHUA TREE! We were relieved to finally see water and trees after being in the desert for so long. San Diego did not dissappoint! Explored the food scene and the USS Midway. Thanks to Jordan for giving us the lay of the land. After SD we headed to Joshua Tree. Twas super hot, but we loved scampering through the Jumbo Rocks. The best part was meeting up with cousin Sam! We miss our family and friends a ton. Think about you guys every day!
UPDATE #16 - Sledding at WHITE SANDS, NM! Phew! Finally had hook-ups so I've been able to edit our New Mexico update. White Sands was truly a dreamscape. Dunes for miles. Mind-blowing sunsets. Super easy to find a completely secluded spot (and get lost AF). We loved that. Also Christina officially launched Wild Flame Co! So excited! Enjoy : )
UPDATE #15 - BROKEDOWN in MARFA, TX - On our way out of Big Bend, we saw something you should never see...smoke billowing out of the undercarriage of the trailer. Wonderful. The closest town was Marfa, known for its extraterrestrial activity and vibrant artist community. An ideal place to be stranded for awhile! We made the most of it ; )
UPDATE #14 - We have a love/hate relationship with Texas now. We froze during the Great Texas Ice Age of 2021, and only spent one night in Austin. Big Bend National Park blew our minds and felt like our own little desert outpost. We love off-grid living, and hope to do more while out West. Enjoy!
The most RVs we’ve seen at a Walmart so far. On our way to Big Bend!
UPDATE #13 - NEW ORLEANS! Before the big freeze in Texas, we were in NOLA. Even with the city mostly shutdown, we made the most of it! We had a pickle for a neighbor, danced in the street, and ate waaaay too many beignets. Also, water is leaking into the trailer now. Fun!
WTF Texas?! Since we shot this video two days ago, our tanks have frozen and the campground has lost power. Grocery stores are closed. Roads are impassable. The power grid is essentially f*****. We should be fine, but hoping that those less fortunate can find warmth and food right now.
We initially planned to stop in Austin, but diverted further south to avoid this freak winter storm. Apparently didn’t go far enough. Now there’s ice on the roof so we can’t drive anywhere. Gotta stick it out till Sunday. Fun!
UPDATE #12: After Cypress Creek, we traveled up the Gulf coast to FORT PICKENS on Santa Rosa Island! The fort has a rich history dating from the early 19th century. Some historians believe that the first shots of the Civil War were fired here - months before the Battle of Fort Sumter. Enjoy!
PS - shout out to Jack for the hot tip on the stingrays!!
The Facebook algorithm won't like this, but now we have a YouTube channel! I'll be uploading our videos on Fbook and YouTube moving forward. If you'd prefer to watch our videos on YouTube, you should subscribe : )

UPDATE #11 - What a week! We met some baby goats and spent a week off-grid. Loved having a 7,400 acre nature preserve as our backyard : )
Dogs vs Dillo. We’re still fascinated by these little creatures. Probably how people can tell we’re from New England.
UPDATE #10 - We spent two weeks on the Gulf Coast soaking up the sun and putting the rig to the test. Here's an update from the beach : )
After many failed attempts, I fixed the hot water heater without getting electrocuted or blowing myself up. I feel like a superhero.
