Not so much sewing at the moment . . here's what I've been up to in the last few weeks . . !

Living with Parkinson's - and a fractured humerus January 2023 So, you get Parkinson's - unfortunately you remain just as likely as the next person to get cancer, heart disease, diabetes (the list is endless, there are no free passes at all), and you become even more prone to things like . . falling. Today, I fell (or should that be 'I had a fall'....

The midnight blue toucan/zebra jungle print is back in stock, and the leopardskin is proving popular too. I have a few scrunchies too in similar velvet fabrics £4 each or two for £6 - great stocking fillers.

My bags are slow sewing, slow fashion - designed and constructed to last. I often self-line, using the same fabric on the interior as the exterior.

I always like to recommend sewing pattern and fabric combinations - in the hope that I will spark somebody's interest to start sewing, or get back to sewing. So this pattern is from SewingShedDesigns on Etsy and it’s an iLiv cotton half Panama.

Designed for comfort the straps are wide, and those 2 external front (or back!) pockets are perfect for those things it's still useful to have printed out - like those town centre maps on your (long, long-awaited) city break.

And yes, my boxing gloves do fit inside, though if you'd like a really roomy boxing gloves bag, I'd recommend the extra large version of the Statement bag.

This is one of those bags I had to make again - as I immediately used my first one myself. This is such an easy-to-wear colour and design - it goes with everything.

My bags are slow sewing, slow fashion - designed and constructed to last. I often self-lined, using the same fabric on the interior as the exterior. Unashamedly luxe this adds strength and a good finish, so important when you love those natural fabrics that fray and fray.

This particular fabric is a Better Cotton Initiative cotton - BCI's mission is to help cotton communities survive and thrive, while protecting and restoring the environment. Check out their great work - here (bettercotton.org)

My bags are handcrafted by me on my sewing machine - so bags do vary slightly in dimensions even when they are made to the same pattern.
