“Based on a True Story”

A New Orleans native and former dancer with Houston Ballet, Dawn Crouch holds a degree in political science, pursued a graduate, and has written copy for a living.

"Based on a true story" is her mantra. She loves expanding the potential of unique experience and unearthing urban legends in her own neighborhood.

Dawn began her writing career as a screenwriter. Her first script, THE SPIDERWEB TATTOO was a top-ten finalist for Action/Adventure in the 2009 PAGE International Screenwriting Competition. One of her later works, DEAD CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND, a supernatural thriller based on an infamous Huntsville, AL urban legend, was recently optioned by Wind Horse Entertainment. Dawn is currently working on a novel adaptation of the script and invites you to visit the page for the project.

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina blew her from her home in Gulfport, MS to Alabama where she still resides a safe distance from the beach and works as a ballet instructor for Huntsville Ballet and Andalusia Ballet. AGAINST THE WIND, JANE-CLAIRE'S PERSONAL SALVATION is based on her family's experience during and after the storm.

Her new medical thriller novel, THE LAST PLAGUE, is now available on Amazon!
