*Black, Renew, Int. Rep. Cond on scalp, *Smoothing Cond on ends (I wash once a week cuz I’m lazy 😉)
*Masques: once every 6-8 weeks for 30 mins
*Rejuveniqe oil treatments once a week.
*Deep condition once every 2 weeks.
*Clarifying shampoo once a month cuz I don’t wash frequently.
*Moxie mousse on wash days
*Refresh with water on days 2/3 & Air Dry cream or Curl Cream with water on days 4/5

Our hair health is affected by what is happening internally. Stress affects our whole body and can increase hair shedding / thinning.

Right now, stress levels are high for most people due to the current pandemic, which may cause a larger than normal amount of hair to stop growing and shed.

How stress stunts hair growth.

IT ALL STARTS WITH CORTISOL.

Cortisol is a hormone primarily produced by the adrenal glands in order to help your body react to stressful situations. New research shows it’s also created in the scalp. Chronic stress can lead to elevated levels of this hair-damaging hormone.

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT THE FOLLICLES?

Follicles are very sensitive to cortisol. When the hair follicle is signaled by cortisol, the growth cycle prematurely shifts from the anagen (growth) phase to catagen (rest) phase. This means hair is no longer actively growing, and is preparing to fall out, or shed. When there are more hair follicles in the resting phase than in the growth phase, you may experience excessive hair shedding–more than 100 hairs per day.

Normally, the hair growth cycle will start again once a hair has shed, but continued stress delays the process.

This is just one reason why you should be using hair care with active botanicals that help keep the follicles healthy ..... not something that just removes dirt and grease.
